Diabetes test comes back negative??

I've had two tests done recently to see if I am diabetic and each test has come back negative.  So what is wrong with me?  If I eat something sweet I break out in a sweat, severe brain fog and anxiety, anger to the point of rage,  can't concentrate, joint & muscle pain and very week in the legs.  WTF???

I have had every test known to man run on me and my blood work always come back "within normal levels"...whatever the heck that means.  My GI doctor is tired of seeing me, my regular doctor is clueless, pain mgmt doctor is great but all he wants to do is give me stronger meds.  I even went to a naturalist...what a waste of money that was.

Anyone else have this problem?  I wont quit searching until I find my problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

I agree with the suggestion above that you should have an OGTT to see how you react to carbs. Also google reactive hypoglycemia for more information. The yogurt and tortilla are about 30 grams of carbs, not an enormous amount (assuming the yogurt is plain, not the fruit kind which is sweetened). Yogurt is dairy by the way. Get the test. Meanwhile if you invest in a meter or borrow one you could see what your blood sugar reading is when you feel that way which would give you important information.

This morning I had two scrambled eggs with hamburger, onion on a corn tortilla with a cup of yogurt.  About 30 minutes later I was dizzy, lightheaded and could not concentrate.  I also had a bout of rage and anger...OUT OF NOWHERE.   This is starting to scare me as I am now affraid to eat because I'm not sure how I will react to foods.  I keep a food journal but cant seem to figure out what my problem is.  I dont eat wheat or dairy and consume very little, if any, refined sugar. I have felt like crud all day and am at my ropes end.

When you feel a mild hunger, don't go for starches or sweets. Eat protein. At my suggestion, a friend with this problem kept boiled shrimp in the refrigerator and ate one or two when she wanted a snack. People with hypoglycemia (presuming that is what you have) should eat several small meals a day, instead of three squares.

I agree. It sounds like reactive hypoglycemia, where high carb foods make your blood sugar go low. Do you have the same thing when you eat say a plate of pasta? If it's just sweets, simple solution: don't eat sweets!

Have you had the 5 or 6 hour glucose tolerance test? If all your doctor is relying on is fasting blood sugar he won't get much information. Your symptoms suggest not diabetes, but hypoglycemia, except for the joint and muscle pain, at least I never had the joint and muscle pain.
