i test just about every 2 hours-----i need a diabetic advisor-----there is no reason for me
to test this often------it's not covered by my insurance------i'm in denial-----i'm soooooo
scared of "going low"-----i go from 80's to 177 sometimes-------i DO NOT eat right-----my
husband is suffering too------not eating and losing weight-----this is a curse!!!! i only eat
sandwiches mostly peanut butter/low sugar jelly------i shake a lot------then valium comes
into the picture-------don't like my doctor----i guess i need a "head doctor" because of
all this AND i'm scared to leave the house since all this ( about 5 mos. ) i've created my
own prison, it's not agoraphobia, it's insecurity, i'm only secure with my husband. thank
you but i don't think i can be helped at this point. i really want to know how to keep my
readings stable. if i could get an advisor or nutritionist to come to the house or on
phone to help me but i don't know how to go about this without getting the doctor to
REFER and he's the type who knows it all, very brash! SORRY for all this------keep doing
the good job you do on here and God bless you.
dottie - Try opening your own thread. Include in your post your glucose levels, when you test, and types of foods that you consume. Also, please explain "it drops all day". How and when do you see this?
we are supposed to keep our BS at or around 100 would be nice' right? so how do we do
that when it drops all day and only rises when we eat. do we eat every hour and WHAT
do we eat? this is not meant to be sarcastic
"I just had a check up about a week ago or two and they did not find anything wrong."
Doesn't sound like the checkup included blood draws to look at your chemistry panel or a complete blood count [CBC]. The chemistry panel will look at your creatinine [kidney function], sodium, and potassium levels. Low potassium levels (hypokalemia), can cause an irregular heart rhythm along with improper blood pressure. Ask the doctor for a complete health checkup, not a physical exam. Good luck.
Well I am exactly 18 years old. Numerous people have told me it is either low blood sugar or low potassium and I am beginning to think they have a point. If after all, I did not have anything to eat for about seven hours and only had a sandwich for breakfast, it seems plausible. I do see how this can also be very serious however, but I am probably going to see a doctor soon. I just had a check up about a week ago or two and they did not find anything wrong. Thanks for your response though.
