Is it low Blood Sugar?

Yesterday I had some sort of weird attack that causes me to feel extremely tired, my heart raced, I looked pale, and I had a horrible tingling and numbness that started at my hands and quickly got to my legs, abdomen, and face. There was also a sharp pain on the right side of my abdomen. I was told it was probably low blood sugar but that would not explain the numbness or the tingling sensation (and this was probably the worst part). This has never occurred to me before. I had eaten a sandwich for breakfast at about 7 AM and this occurred at about 2:20 PM when I was about to perform. I had been feeling really weak prior to this occurrence but not as badly as I did at that moment. My teacher also claimed that every time I played on my percussion instrument I got paler each time so I should take a break (but I chose not to). When we were in the hallway and about to go to perform I tried telling my friend "after we perform, get me some help because I don't feel good" but all I said was "when" and then I had to take deep breaths because I started to feel horribly tired. Do these symptoms mean I simply had low blood sugar?

Are you under the age of 18? If yes, you need to inform your parents and schedule a doctor visit for a complete health exam. Don't put this off or ignore the fact that something dire is brewing inside your body. Your symptoms do not appear to be from low blood sugar, rather points towards heart disease or a tumor of sorts.

dottie - Try opening your own thread. Include in your post your glucose levels, when you test, and types of foods that you consume. Also, please explain "it drops all day". How and when do you see this?

"I just had a check up about a week ago or two and they did not find anything wrong."

Doesn't sound like the checkup included blood draws to look at your chemistry panel or a complete blood count [CBC]. The chemistry panel will look at your creatinine [kidney function], sodium, and potassium levels. Low potassium levels (hypokalemia), can cause an irregular heart rhythm along with improper blood pressure. Ask the doctor for a complete health checkup, not a physical exam. Good luck.

Well I am exactly 18 years old. Numerous people have told me it is either low blood sugar or low potassium and I am beginning to think they have a point. If after all, I did not have anything to eat for about seven hours and only had a sandwich for breakfast, it seems plausible. I do see how this can also be very serious however, but I am probably going to see a doctor soon. I just had a check up about a week ago or two and they did not find anything wrong. Thanks for your response though.
