Lantus & chest pain

I have recently been commenced on lantus 30 units at night but have found that i am awake all night with severe chest pain and palpatations.
Also I experience incredible burning when injecting myself as well as numbness around my lips, general fatigue and muscle soreness, especially in the legs.
My GP states this is normal and will eventually pass. As these symptoms have been going on for nearly 3 months should I change my GP and the Endo who prescribed "the insulin from hell". And has anyone else experienced these symptoms especially the chest pains

I have been on Lantus for a little over a year and have had the same symptoms you are describing except for the chest pains. I have also read on here where alot of other people experience the burning sensation.

It appears you are experiencing well known severe sides effects of Lantus. Have you spoken with your endo about your discomfort and other options? Go here and read "before taking insulin Glargine (Lantus)" http***www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a600027.html  See if this applies to you.
