I don't have the official "word" yet, but it greatly appears that I've crossed that line and become Pre-Diabetic. An A1c test done earlier this month because of a Glucose reading of 103 which was over the line for the first time EVER in my life which the Dr called Impaired Glucose. The result was 5.7. Same thing as being Pre. I'm not pleased considering that for the past 1-1/2 year I've been eating far healthier than ever in my life and mostly low or lower carb at that. I try to avoid the "white" foods and although in no way shape or form am I perfect, I am SO very better than how I used to eat. Oh my, am I ever!
Additionally, Vitamin D level, although still is the "normal" range is quite low at a 32 with a low normal range being 30. Now that is quite sad, considering that knowing a major portion of the population are deficient in Vitamin D I already take 4,000 IU of D3 daily. My reading indicates that those of with us with conditions like Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, etc need a higher level of this vitamin than to just merely be at the barely into normal place as we use it faster than it can be made. Heck, I live in Florida and that's not enough sunlight? Of course, I don't sit out in the sun since I was born a redhead and burn incredibly easy.
About the only GOOD thing out of the recent lab tests is that all my Cholesterols are at good levels and not borderline any longer. At least that much came from quitting smoking.
There is still a high level of inflammation occurring within me...some where and some how. Again the CRP test showed high. Yet tests for Sedminentation Rate, Rheumatoid Factor, ANA, etc were all negative as they normally are.
Since the VA did these tests, I'll have to call to the Primary Dr and see what she wants with all of it. Of course it would take months to get in to see her. Knowing the VA, I'd be surprised if anything will occur. My experiences with them are that unless something is absolutely out of the normal range, they just wait and see. Based on what occurs there, I'll also be sending a copy to my Private Dr for review.
I'm feeling rather depressed at all of this because it feels that I did all that work of eating healthier and quit smoking for the past year and a half so that I wouldn't get to this point.
During the interim as this gets sorted out, suggestions?
