Could I be diabetic?

Here are my symptoms:

- Insane thirst. No matter what I do I cannot seem to quench it.
- Lack of energy and motivation for anything.
- Insomnia
- My urine smells really sweet

I am 23 years old, 5"10 and about 9 and half stone.

I know these are the symptoms so I probably should go to the doctors, but the thirst and urine thing has only been going on for the past 2-3 weeks and I thought it was a prolonged thing, not spontaneous.

Any advice would be great. Thanks :)

You describe me at 23 and 5"10, except that you're a female lol, I agree with Wave though, you should definitely go see a doctor. Some factors to consider are your weight, I guess that's what you meant by 9.5 stone, but I'm not familiar with that. Another factor would be your activity level, how much exercise you get on a regular basis. If you ARE overweight and don't get much exercise, as well as having those symptoms, you should definitely get tested as soon as possible. If you would like, I've written an article that goes into more depth about Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms In Men, Women, and Children you could read. In case the link doesn't take in html you can find it here http://whatsymptoms.com/type-2-diabetes-symptoms-in-men-women-and-children/ Hope this helps you out!

The only advice I can give you at this time is go see a doctor for testing. Your symptoms point towards type 2 diabetes, especially sweet smelling urine. This is called ketones.
