Suspected hypoglycaemia?

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on this. I've been having symptoms for a long time which began about five years ago, when I started having heart palpatations (I had an EEG but it was inconclusive). Around this time, I also started getting dilated pupils, which has been a long term issue and pointed out a few times by my optician, but they don't seem to know the cause. This has also caused a decline in my vision according to the optician. The palpatations have since gone for the most part, but it's still being funny with beating much too quickly or too slowly sometimes.

I've developed other symptoms such as constant headaches (sometimes even develop into full blown migraine), tremors in my arms especially, cold hands/feet constantly, occasional numbness in hands/feet, and fatigue so bad that sometimes I cannot physically get up and must keep laying down. I find myself falling asleep in every day situations when it involves sitting down for an extended amount of time, and find bringing a bottle of something sugary like coke often helps to wake me up somewhat.

I've also been experiencing quite noticable mental symptoms too, such as depression to the point of being suicidal (I've had a lot of problems with bereavement/abuse though so I don't know whether this is down to something else), anxiety, paranoia, and constant nightmares. The depression isn't constant but quite a sharp mood swing from being perfectly normal to it being unbearable.

I haven't actually suspected hypoglycaemia before until using a friend's blood glucose meter on a whim, and the reading came out as 3.6 - this was after eating. We took it again later on and it had dropped to 2.8. I know there was nothing wrong with the meter as his was 7.7 according to it.

If anyone could advise me on whether these symptoms are caused by blood sugar or something else I would really appreciate it.

Some more info -

Went to the optician's today as my vision has been blurry on and off even with my glasses and they detected no change in my prescription. So maybe this is due to low blood sugar as well?

Just to clarify, the readings there when converted are 65mg/dl and 50mg/dl to the best of my knowledge.
