My bf has had a wound on his leg since we returned from Costa Rica (about 7 weeks ago). It is painful and is somewhat large. He has been cleaning it, covering it but still isn't sure how he got it or what it is. We have had a Dr.look at it but he didn't seem worried. Still it isn't getting better and we're not sure what to do next.
Go to the nearest ER. The doctor should look at the wound, treat it, then run tests to check for parasites. He/she should also start your bf on antibiotics. As troy stated, this is a diabetic forum. I replied because years ago I got a parasite infection from a nick while in CR.
