I must agree with the above comment. It is important to continue on the insulin and follow your physicians instructions. Question the doctor, tell him/her what you are doing but please, please follow their care instructions, I am not on insulin (yet) however I know people who are. One has loss use of his kidney's completely. He has already had 2 toes amputated. I myself am at stage 1 Kidney disease and very much overweight. You cannot continue with your blood glucose readings at such a high rate.
Mine was over 400 only one time, I phoned my health care provider and the nurse insisted that I come in to Emergency immediately. Believe me, that's the last time I ate Chinese food.
Try to stay strong, continue on your meds and good luck to you. Please keep us informed here of your condition.

Hi there, I see that you are battling with 2 evils (obesity and diabetic). I think it is important for you to continue your insulin regiment to keep your glucose level under control. Blood sugar ranging from 234-459 is extremely high. There are many illness that can manifest (glaucoma, peripheral neuropathy, unexplain weight loss, lethargic, poor wound healing, etc...) from uncontrollable diabetes. Therefore, it is vital for you to get back to your insulin regiment and check your blood sugar daily. Your thirst is your body's attempt to dilute the abundance of glucose in your bloodstream. Without insulin, those abundance sugar will eventually damage your kidney.
Best of luck to you, and stay strong.
