I also did Alli and Barb is right, it works but if you eat too much fat or grease (and sometimes what you think has little grease really has a lot, like a McDonalds egg mcmuffin) you will pay the price and sometimes it's a not so fun price to pay.  I know this sounds gross but if you eat something high in grease, it will leak out without you knowing and it does NOT wash out!  Make sure you eat healthy and if you take medications, check with your Doctor first because some of the effectiveness could be lost due to your body passing and not absorbing.  You also need to take a good multi-vitamin with it due to the fact that so much passes through your system.  One more thing, there is a foul odor to the grease as it leaves your body so you have to "wipe" extra good and it really is a gross sight to see.  I didn't find the effectiveness worth the icky side effects.  Even when I ate healthy, that smell was there.  Good luck to you!

The food diary is a great way to keep track of your calorie intake - maybe it's not necessarily the number of calories, but the "type" of calories you are eating -- like maybe too much fat, too many simple carbs, etc.

Hope that helps you get started and please feel free to stick around and make use of our support system here.........

Yes, I have tried Ali and yes, it works.  What it does is block the fat you eat from being absorbed, so it goes right on through.  You have to be very careful about the amount of fat you eat because the "treatment effects" can be devastating if you aren't.  I found that since I had to control my fat intake so much while on it, that I was losing weight anyway, so I stopped taking it -- it's not cheap.

And keep in mind, that it only blocks dietary fat, so if you are eating a lot sugar or other complex carbs, it's not going to do a lot for you.

Even though you say you "diet" and exercise right, I might suggest that you try using the food diary to track your intake - you might find that you are actually eating more than you think -- or maybe you are cutting your calories too much.

You could also try using the exercise tracker to make sure you are using the amount of calories you think you are.

And yes, by all means get your thyroid checked because if your levels are not right for you, losing weight will be an uphill battle.  Trust me - I've been there and done that; could not lose weight until I got on med to balance my thyroid levels.
