Lets see what the next few days bring - thanks Peek - 'calming and peaceful thoughts' oohh let me search and see if I can rememebr what they feel like lol.
Its funny how it can work, Helen. I've actually lost over the past few days, when I've been ultra stressed over my Dads death.
I know the issues with your son, and I KNOW you are under severe stress. Since you sent so many kind thoughts and prayers, I'll send some your way, over the ocean.
If you can, take time to meditate a little and think some calming and peaceful thoughts. Its so hard--know that your friends care and love you. You are such a strong woman, and I'm amazed to know you and learn what you go through successfully.
Try not to worry about this, and keep doing exactly as you have done before.
Love,
Peek
I always weigh at the same time and wearing the same - and I can feel it is fluid - I am bloated and sluggish...
When I used to have severe IBS I could put on 5lb in fluid retention in about 1 hour - so i know it can happen over night,... I jsut am so much healthier and was so pleased to see yesterdays weight loss that this morning was a smack in the face.
Oh well we are off to watch Mamma Mia at the pictures this aftrnoo - Elizabeth isn't back till 7pm so it is a little me and dave time - a rare thing since Elizabeth came a long.
thank you all for your support and ideas :)

I am not sure if stress weight gain can show up within such a short phase, one of the other great posts here lists a whole bunch of metabolic causes. But overall there is a relation. Tell me about it! I have watched myself over the years: in stressful times with lack of sleep I have a rather flabby waist line and in relaxed times it disappears on its own. All the while I am eating the same kind and amount of food.
I believe it is the raised cortisol levels in your body that signal to store "emergency" fluids and fat which usually happens around the waist line. While breastfeeding, I had lost weight overall but in this spot the "emergency pad" remained until I was done. And the worst time was while I was sleep deprived AND drank a can of Diet Coke each day. I was bloated unbelievably until I skipped the diet soda. Not sure if your 1.8lbs are related to any of this but don`t be too frustrated and impatient with yourself!
Dearest Helen ~
Did you weigh at exactly the same time of day? Were you wearing the same clothes? Just that can make a difference. Your weight can fluctuate at least 2-3 pounds from morning to night and approximately 2 pounds from water loss/gain. So, please, do not let that derail your effort or make you feel disappointed!
YOU are Amazing! You are making such positive changes and are committed to stay on track, even while Dave is home ... so PROUD of YOU!!! Enjoy your time with him and your daughter. And, as Janice suggested, try and rest when Dave rests, watch those calories and perhaps the entire family can go for a walk together!
You're in my thoughts and prayers and you have our best wishes for some lovely family time. Looking forward to seeing pictures! :]
Love and Huggggsss ... Ranae
I understand your disapointment...but don't be...you know you will drop the extra pound and 1/2 soon...............our bodies are strange...loose 1 gain 2.....loose 2 gain one.....when it's all said and done...you have always been on the lighter side......just hang in there....it's fluid and you will loose it soon.
And yes...it could be from stress! Just take several deep breaths......enjoy the 5 days with Dave.....time will fly by.....try to get some rest when he rests.....stay at your calorie goal and fluid intake.....and walk, walk, walk!!! Take care Helen........Janice
