Here is the answer to this question. In order to lose weight, you have to subtract calories. Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so in order to lose 1 lb/week, you'd have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). According go my son you have to practically plan your meals for the whole days. Because when he cut back on calories he quit losing weight. I know how you feel I don't ess eat that much either. I'm also diabetic and I thought all this good I would end up in diabetic coma. Actually though I have gone from five shots a day to two. I haven't been on it long enough to lose any weight bit he lost 15lbs in a month plus he worked out a couple days a week.good luck.debmill
