Thanks! I have been on a low cal diet (1800) but dropped it down to 1233 a day. This year I've started growing my own food!! It tast so much better!!! I will have to ask my doctor about the apo-e 4/4. Thank you!!
Birth control can make you gain some weight, but you can lose on it. I was having the same type of issue 3yrs ago, and it turned out I was an APO-E 4/4. Which meant I couldn't process fat or sugar properly. I changed my diet radically, cutting out most pre-processed foods, lowered my meat intake, and watched my fat intake 40g to a 1500 calorie diet. I started to lose weight and I lost it quickly. At first I was extremely strict, if a label had sugar, syrup, sucrose, fruit juice, or fructose in the label; I put it back on the shelf. I also cut out dairy which was hard for me as dairy was in almost every meal I use to eat. I would prepare most of my own food from scratch. I ended up losing 52 lbs in 6mos starting off with 9 lbs a month and total weight loss was 57 lbs. When I had lost 35lbs, I increased my caloric intake as I didn't want to lose much more weight. Until my father passed last fall, I kept the weight off and considering I went on a total comfort food eating spree for 9mos, I only gained back 20 lbs. I'm not saying you're an APO-E 4/4, but if you change your diet elminating pre-processed foods and increase your fiber intake you will lose weight. Most pre-processed foods contain added sugar and fats to make it taste good. If it's low-fat they probably snuck sugar in there someway, and if it's low sugar generally it has extra fat in the product. The fake sugars like splenda, equal, and the pink packet fluctuate your insulin just as much as sugar does. I use added sugars sparingly and I get my sweet fix from natural sugars like fruit with the exception of my one square of dove dark chocolate a day. I started back on my healthy eating habits last month and with a few big cheats I've still managed to lose 7 lbs.
