Late night snacking almost never falls into the good snacking category and is usually driven by cravings. You can avoid it by eating a satisfying dinner. Eat fruit to satisfy your craving. Drink herbal tea. Brush your teeth as toothpaste tends to make foods taste bad and sap your desire for late night snacks. Drink some water. Get moving as light exercise can be great for killing the desire to eat.
If u feel u must eat something, try frozen blueberries. One ounce is only 16 calories and since they are frozen they take more time to eat. Best snack by far! U can also search 10 calorie snacks and find a list of things like two strawberries, one peanut m&m. Sometimes thst tiny lil bit is all it takes. :)
Eat a balanced and satisfying dinner that keep you happy until bed time. You can also try drinking herbal tea. It can be a healthy substitute for a dessert without adding calories
Midnight or late snacks is a bad habit, especially when you are on a diet period. Eating late night snacks doesn't leave enough time before going to bed to digest your food well. It can also cause a poor sleep. Here are some steps you can follow to stop your midnight and late night snacks:
1.Eat well throughout the day so that you're not ravenous when you get home.
2.Limit the amount of junk food available in your home or remove it altogether.
3.If you must snack at night, stick to raw vegetables or small amounts of freshly cut fruit.
Try eating hot cereal at night. Like oatmeal or cream of wheat.
Sometimes we think we are hungry when actually we are thirsty (see comment above) or tired! Have plenty of protein in your evening meal, and maybe turn off the tv and smart phone etc you can notice when you are tired and choose when to go to bed.
Drink water … lots of water …
I find myself craving carbs like crazy so I keep carb snacks out of the house. Try making a cup of black tea or something just to you feel like ur having something. Sometimes held me.
Just don't eat after 7:00.
Don't keep snacks available, then you won't be able to eat at night.
Instead of keeping junk food snacks on hand, keep cut up veggies, like carrots, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, etc. Have an apple or some berries with 1/2 cup of plain Greet yogurt, etc.
