Why do I look fat and ugly in all clothes?

I am overweight I'm 20 yrs old and weigh 190 pounds and I'm 5'3. I excercise and I eat right, but it's my medication that I (NEED) to take that is putting all this weight on me. My clothing don't fit right and tbh I don't really remember the last outfit I bought for myself. My favorite stores are H&M, Forever21, and Urban Outfitters. The clothes usually don't fit, and I end up getting stuck in the clothing. So now I don't bother on trying the clothes on, in fear of getting stuck. If the clothes do fit, I look ugly and it makes me look even bigger. IDK what to do anymore. I don't have the confidence, what should I do? PLEASE no hate :( thanks!

You look fat and ugly because you believe that you look fat and ugly. You believe that because the media keeps telling you that you have to be built like Kate Moss to be attractive. Talk to your doctor and see if there's anything you can do to offset the weight-gain side effects of your medication. Also wear clothing that fits you and doesn't accentuate your weight. I have a big belly that I'm trying to lose, and I figured out that certain pants make it look even bigger. I didn't want to wear what I thought of as "old man pants", but until I lose the weight that style of pants looks better because it doesn't call attention to my gut. Good luck!

Have you talked with your prescribing doc about the weight gain?  Is there perhaps an option to try that is weight neutral?  Can you get a referral to a dietician who can help calculate how many calories you need and to devise a plan specifically for you?

Can you join a neighborhood walking group?  Start one?  If you could walk with a couple of neighbors, besides getting the exercise, you'll be getting vitamin D and boosting your mood/confidence through friendship.

I'm sorry you feel discouraged right now.  Be kind to yourself every day.  It is just so easy for us to beat ourselves up and believe what we tell ourselves.  However it isn't impossible to turn that around, to begin using positive dialogue with ourselves.

Good luck to you :)
