first of all, you have to re-train your taste buds to like healthy things like salads (without all the fatty dressings), fruits, veggies, and nuts. second, try cutting out most of your bread and carb intake. Those things bloat you up, and are just empty calories. Try drinking as much water as you can every day, as it can help clean out your body.

Do you snack a lot during the day?  What about exercise?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you should always make sure you eat a good one -- toast is not enough.  Also, you should make sure you eat lunch.  A sandwich made with whole grain bread, turkey, lettuce, tomato, etc, with some fruit, milk, raw veggies, etc would be good for lunch.  The steak is okay, but make sure it's small (3 oz) and try something else besides the chips -- like some grilled/roasted veggies or something.  Try whole grain spaghetti instead of regular -- tastes just as good (I like it better), but it's not simple carbs.

How the foods are cooked can make a difference.  My son and husband were not fans of many vegetables until I started roasting them.  Take almost any vegetable, cut it up, toss it with a bit of olive oil or canola oil, salt and pepper and roast at 350 for 45 minutes, turning every once in a while.  Even a tbsp of maple syrup added in the last 15 minutes makes the veggies taste almost like candy with the carmelization.

Try adding vegetables to other things so they take on the flavor.  Chopping up carrots, celery, peppers, zucchini, or even broccoli or peas into pasta sauce.  Avoid fast food restaurants, go for something made with skinless chicken breasts instead.  There are very tasty and healthy foods at Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese (sushi is great) restaurants.

Try different yogurts - I have found that the regular (not the diet) Activia yogurt tastes like ice cream but is still very good for you.  Low fat frozen yogurt can be nice too.

Try signing up for a cooking class or invest in a cookbook for healthy food and experiment.

Good luck!

If you don't eat healthy foods and get plenty of exercise, you will have a horrible time losing weight.

You need to eat several servings of fruits and veggies every day, at least servings of low/no fat dairy (including milk, cheese, yogurt), lean meats and whole grains.

If you eat a lot of sugar or items with white flour, such as candies, cookies, sodas, chips, white bread, etc, you will have a hard time losing weight, especially if you don't get enough exercise.

The fact that you are overweight AND eating this type of food increases the possibility of type II diabetes, high blood pressure, heart issues, stroke and any number of other health issues.

So -- you can do what I did, which took a while, but I'm getting better.  I started eating things that I had never liked before and even when I still didn't like them, I kept trying them at intervals........eventually, I came to actually like some of them - sweet green, red, orange, yellow peppers is one thing I did this with.......  avocados is another.

I'm not saying that you should try to eat a food until you like it --- that won't happen.  What I did was try it and if I didn't care for it, I didn't have it again for a few weeks/months, but I always left the option open to try it again.

My "thing" with the sweet peppers was kind of silly really -- I never could eat them (green peppers) because they always gave me severe heartburn AND I didn't like the taste......Well, one day I ran into the grocery store and went back to the produce section where they have individual "ready made" salads. I got one and didn't even realize until I sat down to eat it, that the peppers were there -- one slice of each, red, green, yellow and orange....I first took them off and was going to throw them away, but then it dawned on me that I'd never really tried anything except the green, so I nibbled on the red, then the orange, then the yellow, then I held my breath and took a tiny bite of the green --- you know what???  None of them was as bad as I thought/remembered -- over a period of time, I learned to really like them and I now buy them quite often just to slice and snack on, along with carrots and celery sticks.

Also make sure that you try a variety of fruits -- I make a "game" of finding different things in the produce section that I've never heard of to try -- it's kind of fun and I've run across several things that are really good tasting AND good for me.

You just have to experiment and to a certain extent you are going to have to realize that you will have to find healthy things to eat, or you will have a lot of trouble later in life.

All that said --- if you can give us an idea of what you  might eat over a day's time, maybe we can suggest healthy alternatives --- let's make it a game..........
