I started on this veggie/fruit challenge at work to see if you're actually eating enough veggies and fruits as required and in the four weeks I participate, I learned that I wasn't eating enough of my veggies. I think that it would be good to have a food journal or something to keep track of what you're eating. Maybe not everyday but it does help to give you a picture of what you eat. So far I've lost 5 - 6 pounds. I want to lose more but I'm like you I want to make a good choice on how to go about it. Good luck!
I agree with heid-about the diet plan. Write down what you realistically want to eat tomorrow and stick to it. I read a book called sugar smart by anne alexander. It talks a lot about how to cut down on sugar and processed foods and that really helped me lose weight. One of the best pieces of advice was to journal my food and then look at the food choices and when. Basically try to figure out what your weak points are and then decide how to not make the same mistakes every day. I am still stuggling to stay on the good road and that good road would include losing 5 more lbs, so feel free to make me your weight loss bud.
