Can anyone help me with what is wrong

I went on vacation in March down near Mexico in Texas.  I got very ill on the trip, with severe stomach problems (waves of nausia, lack of appetite, loss of weight, fatigue, etc).

When I got back I went to the Dr and she gave me Cipro (500mg), which worked in 3 days.  This indicates to me that I had some sort of of bacterial infection. I was basically back to normal, with still some fatigue.

About a month later, still fatigued, I overindulged with alcohol (which never really bothered me before), and I haven't really been the same since.  I felt much the same way I did before.  I also have hot flashes often.  Testing neg. for H Pylori by blootest I had an endocscopy and everything looked fine.  The Dr. did find a small hiatal hernia.  I have been on an off of Nexium and it helped a little but not much.  I could only take samples because my insurance didn't cover it.

I saw an infect. disease specialist who took stool sample and found nothing.

The Dr. gave me Cipro again for 12 days, along with Prilosec, and I noticed more progress in that 2 weeks than ever before, which makes me think there is some sort of bacterial problem.  She quit the Cipro after the 12 days, and said it should have worked by now, RIGHT when I was starting to feel better (at about 90%).  Since I have been off of it I have taken another step back, but not at bad as before.  I have been on the Prilosec for a month and it helps

Now, I feel like my stomach is at about 80%.  What are the odds of this being a bacterial infection?

Sure you don't have an ulcer?  My brother had an ulcer and felt much better when he ate.  Horrible when his stomach was hurting.  H pylori maybe hasn't been completely cleared up?  Please continue to be persistant with your doctor.  I'm sure that you will find your answers.

I have never had any trouble before in my life with my stomach.  Never.  And I drank alot in college and up to this point. Thus, the GI Dr. told me that the Hernia has been there my whole life, and shouldn't be bothering me so much, so instantly.  I can remember the exact time when I started having trouble. Something is causing the reflux.

My stomach bothers me the most when I am hungry, after I eat, it is fine, which indicates reflux? I don't have the appetite for things I used to eat regulary. I have actually gained weight, because I eat until I feel better.

My fatigue is all gone, now it is just the stomach problems and hot flashes.  They seem to come together. I have had no diarrhea.

Sorry this is so long, but I am at my wits end with this, I have been healthy my whole life, and I feel like I already lost 6 months of my life and don't want to lose anymore.  I am 24 and like to be very active.  I hate not being able to do much because I'm afraid I will be sick in public.
