I am a 33 year old male that has been dealing with heartburn, bloating, hiccups, burping, frequent and sometimes loose stools. The burning sensation seems to be more severe right at the top of the stomach. It dosent matter what I eat or drink, water even gives me bloating and heartburn. I take OTC antacids, they help but, I find that if I take Vitamin B12 sublingualy my symptoms are gone. I do have other symptoms related to B12 Deficency. Can a lack of vitamin B12 cause the type of symptoms I have? And If my problem is related to vitamin B12 Which problem do you treat? Thank you.
It is unusual for a young person (and 33 is young) to have B12 deficiency unless the diet is very limited. The symptoms of heartburn, bloating, burping etc are not indicative of vitamin B12 deficiency. These symptoms are often described by individuals with nonulcer dyspepsia, although some other conditions would need to be excluded before concluding that you have nonulcer dyspepsia. I would stop the B12 supplementation. A serum B12 level would show whether there is any reason for you to be concerned about B12-related problems. To work up your other symptoms, you might require barium x-rays or endoscopy. the specific tests would be determined after adetailed history had been obtained and a physicial examination performed.
Is your pain burning on the outside or does it feel as if it is internal? does make a difference on telling if it may be symptoms of GERD other known as reflux or if it may be indicative of a gall gladder problem...I've been treated for GERD or reflux with no success and symptoms are now turning to Gall bladder... do you feel as if you have a wedge under your right rib cage? Do you have a slightly higher fever?take notice and eliminate fat from your diet for about a weeks time.... does this help your stools? if so, you may want to push for Gall bladder testing.... go to a specialist cause GP's are not well informed on this...so I'm finding out

I am a 71 year old women. I have been suffering with gastritis for years now. But now for the past 2 months the pains are more frequent and severe. I gone to the doctor many times and the give me spot of some medicine to help the discomfort. What I understand is that this medication is not good to take. Although it makes me feel much better for hours. My symtoms are heaviness in my chest and back area; blurping; very fatique; burning in my stomach. I've taken all of the over the counter medications (Maalox, Pepto Bismol, Malanta), nothing seems to give me comfort. I have changed my diet to light and bland foods. I've tried everything but I am still in discomfort.
Any advise will be appreicated.
My Condition is very similar to Mr. Javivi's above. My medical history is a bit different. Except for cancer treatment beginning in 1995, I had a very strong stomach. Ater being diagnosed with type T large cell lymphoma in the abdomen I had eight cycles of CHOP chemo-therapy, a bone marrow transplant followed by 20 or thirty doses of X-ray treatment. All of this sort of upset my systems. After recovering from low platlet and red blood cells , mainly through taking an herbal regamin , I have now developed digestive problems. These manafest themselves through diarrea, loose stools, a lot of gas after eating, and pain assaciated with the gas, occasional vomiting after meals. Other than going for the inevatible tests, since I am on disability and without insurance, can you reccomend something that will alleve my symptoms. I am 62 years old and not yet elligible for Medicare or Medicaid.
I am 25 years old and I have been diagnosed with relux and gastritis. I am also have chronic back pain and muscle spasms. The pain seems to stem from disc T12 and L1 in my spine. Can a problem with a disc in this area and or a nerve root condition in the same area have caused gastitis and or make it more severe.
I am currently taking prevacid (300mg) twice a day for both the reflux and gastrits. I am also taking muscle relaxors for the spasms. I am also having breathing problems and I beleive it is a possible sympton of three of these conditions.
Can this be true and what are the possible ways to correct this problem?
For the last 3 months I have had a dramatic change in bowel
movements. Upuntil that time I went once a day like clockwork.
Almost over night I have mild cramps in my lower stomach and
a rumbling in a wide area of my body cavity. My stool is watery
a frequent. I talked to my M.D about it and she put me on prilasec, and I remained on it for 2 months. My condition seemed to become even more sever. I do not have heartburn, but I have
to pass gas, has a very strong oder. The color of my stool is
very light with no signs of blood. I have had an upper G.I and
they found an irritation around the duodinum. My condition is
annoying and troublesome. I am 49 and otherwise in great health.
I weigh 155 and have not lost any weight.
I am a 36 year old male and have always been in good health, but in the past couple of years I have noticed some changes in my stool. I try to vary my food intake and sometimes do eat fast foods like I have always done. But now it has come to the point that 50% of the time after I eat anything, my stomach starts girgling and I have to go to the restroom very soon after a meal. My stool after a meal is light in color and mushy, and is always very irritating to my rectum, which I think might be from strong acids or something. During a normal movement, my stool is light in color and small in size, sometimes the size of a pensil. Most of the time my stool is flat looking as if there might be an obstuction or something. This is becoming a great concern and I would like find out whats going on.
Note 1: A few months ago I experienced ongoing pain in the waist area as if a belt were cutting into my stomach. This lasted almost two weeks and then went away.
Note 2: My urine has a strong smell if I don't drink plenty of water and my flow is weak.
My son gets Pancreatitus, severe pain and has to be hospitalized with morphine to get rid of the pain. When they gave him mashed potatoes and meatloaf in just a few minutes he started with dipheria and the stool was green. It caused him a great deal of pain. How much bile does a person produce in an hours time. It doesn't seem like he should have passed bile as soon as he ate.
Please I would appreciate any information you could give me.
you needs to go to a gastroenterologist, or even you primary care doctor adn tell them about the penci thin stools. this can be a sign of a blockage, I am told, possibly cause by a polyp in the colon. I would schedule an appt. immediately so that they can rule out other more serious conditons.
Lately I have been experiencing severe bloatedness, that has came with sudden weight gain of about 6lbs. in the last 3 weeks. I also have been experiencing lower left side abdominal cramps that fluctuate from the front to my lower left back. I have a mild case of constipation and when I do manage to pass a b/m it is a very dark color. I feel extremely ill for most of the day, and frequent with nausea bouts. I have been to the doctor and he has run a number of tests on me to include most except for an ultra sound. I am generally worried that something is really wrong. And to top it all off all the doctor prescribed me was a pain medication of Darvocet. Have any suggestions?

Does anyone know how accurate a gastroparsis test is? I was tested by eating a radio active egg and watching it by X-ray to see how long it takes to digest it. I was told I didn't have gastroparsis but I have had very bad nausea now (on and off) for about 3 years. I am on Motilium and this helps a great deal. Why is this medication helping (used for gastroparsis) if I don't have it? I just more or less wanted to know if these tests could be wrong? Once you have gastroparsis does it come and go and usually stay with you forever? If anyone knows the answer to this please let me know. Thank you very much.
