Liver Disease and abdominal pain

I'm a 31 year old female 5'5 137lbs.  I take Effexor regularly for depression and have had stomach ulcers for the last 10 years.  I quit drinking alcohol 5 years ago.  I had been having extreme pain that started in my stomach and seemed to travel up into my rib cage area the pain was extreme and I would find it difficult to breath and often experience tingling and loss of feelin in my hands and feet.  This pain occurred rarely but has continued since the birth of my daughter in 1999.  I went in to the doctor when after one of these episodes I did not feel well for several days.  I had been taking new vitamins recommended by a pharamacist for fatigue.  I felt naseaus and bloated and I noticed that my urine was dark.  The doctor told me that my liver levels were elevated.
Direct Bilirubin 1.7
Alka Phos.       156
AST              210
ALT              635
GGT              211
My cholesterol was normal.
My husband, who is not a fan of doctors, feels that my elevated liver readings were caused by the vitamins or the stomache problem.  My research makes me concerned that I may have liver disease(ALT level especially).  My questions are: Is it possible to have elevated liver readings like this because of medication or vitamins without actually having liver damage?  Could my abdominal pain have actually been caused by liver problems instead of ulcers or refux?  Do I need to be in a hurry to get to a specialist?

Oh and yes my urine is usually dark in the morning but sometimes it seems to be during the day too depending on how I eat.  I looked up Gastritis and there was a link (WebMD) to Pernicious Anemia.  One of the symptoms was tingling in the extremeties.  Most of the other sympoms don't sound like me though.  Maybe you shoud check into it Livininabox(sp).

Thanks Dani.  I have already made an appointment with a specialist but my husband thinks that I am being paranoid.  Hopefully if I can get some feedback on this he'll see that I'm not.  I think he may just be scared.  He tends to want to ignore things that upset him.  Glad to hear from you.

Yes, you should go see a specialist. Have you had your gallbladder checked out. Some of your symptoms sound like they could be your gallbladder or related to your common bile duct. Often times, women will develop gallbladder problems right after they are pregnant. It is possible that you have gallstones that block your duct. I don't think that your elevated levels are related to your vitamins. However, elevated liver enzymes are not something that you want to ignore. Have it checked further. Good Luck
