Lump in Throat...no help from my doctors

About a month ago I went to the dr. for some back pain and was also having some bloating and a distended stomach. Dr. gave me naproxen and an acid reducer (famotidine) for the back pain (acid reducer since naproxen is hard on the stomach). 3 days after taking the meds, I got worse and developed "acid reflux" type symptoms as described by my doctor. Large lump feeling in throat, indigestion, I could barely swallow a glass of water.

Dr. took me off the pain meds and gave me prilosec. A week later I was feeling much worse. Every time I took the prilosec I felt worse, and with prilosec came intense diarrhea. The longer I go without a meal the better I feel. Talked with doctor and told to stop Prilosec and was referred to a GI. 3 days ago I got an upper endoscopy and low and behold i don't have acid reflux but my LES was "open wider than normal, but nothing to worry about"...they took a biopsy from my intestine and haven't heard back on that yet.
I have no heartburn, only a constant lump in throat ( I can feel everything I eat go down my throat and if I eat anything non-mushy I can feel that shape or consistency for several hrs. after) I'm very lethargic (abnormal) and have had big changes in my bowels (from intense diarrhea, to constipation, bloating/smelly gas, and small stools like finger size or flat (its been over 30 days since I had a normal looking stool (I'm usually very regular)). I'm still having back pain and occasionally some kidney pain.

I have lost 16+ lbs over the last month (and I can't afford to lose any (normal weight is 170-175...on monday weighted 156). I paid over $1000 to get an endoscopy and was told nothing to help my situation or better than that I was told "it might go away all by itself". I don't know what to do...going back to the dr. feels futile and I'm feeling horrible.

Can you help me?

I have had lots of blood work (normal), tested for h.pylori (neg), urine analysis (normal) and the upper endoscopy

Please help me.  I had three major surgeries on March 25th. I was in the hospital for a week. I had a fundiplication, removal of my gallbladder and both ovaries and both tubes removed. Surgeon announced several days post-op that I had developed and ilius. He then sent me home with no idea how long this may take to resolve.  I am also constantly nauseous.  Not now and then, but ALL the time.  He called in a prescription for nausea meds, but no help.  (I found it ironic that one of the side effects of the nausea med is NAUSEA!  I have lost almost 20 pound in 2 weeks.  When the nausea gets the best of me and I start heaving, the only ting that comes up is slimy clear liquid.  I also feel as though something is stuck in my throat.  I am at wit's end and I need to know this is going to end.  I am trying to get as much nutrition as I can, but I can't seem to get anything much past the nausea/gagging.  Hubby is near frantic, as I am I.  Please tell me this will end soon, or if  not what can be done to fix it.

I have similar GI symptoms, lots of gas/gurgling in my intestines, which is not normal for me.  Also had alternating constipation/loose stools and it seems like maybe malabsorbtion but not sure (I don't keep track of my weight quantitatively).  I also have some unusual bumps on my forehead that look similar to acne but haven't gone away.  One bump I squeezed very hard and it contained an unusual "puss" that was yellow and greasy, not the usual pimple puss.  Also I have some subtle neurological symptoms: one day my right eyelids started spasming briefly and now I have had episodes of this every day since then.  Also I sometimes get a tingling sensation in my right fingers.  I also just have a wierd feeling of subtle mental status change.  No seizures.  No fever.  Very subtle "headaches" but nothing severe.  I feel like I have a systemic bacterial infection something like Syphilis or Lyme or Whipple's  disease.  Tested neg. for Syphilis and I don't think Lyme is a possiblity for me and Whipples is extremely rare.  Also tested neg. for HIV, and doctor ran metabolic bloodwork/bloodcount/urinalysis and all normal.  He doesn't think I have an infection.  But this has been long-lasting (6 months).  I will go to another Dr. but what further tests should I be asking for?  Do you have any other ideas of what it could be?

Bearfan,

Direct observation during upper endoscopy is the best way to discover if one has GERD, esophagitis, gastritis or duodenitis.  It's reassuring that this was normal.  When someone feels like things get stuck in the esophagus, it's a good idea to ask for esophageal motility studies to see if the esophagus moves normally.  This is not noted on EGD.
