Morning nausea not pregnant

I am a 32 yr old female. For about 7 weeks now I have experienced morning nausea, fatiqe, shakes, diareah, abdominal pain, lose of appetite. I have seen a doctor and have been to the emergency room several times. the worst is the nausea. I have had a CBC, a liver- kidney function test, chest exrays, pancreus test... all came back fine. I saw a grastro specialist and he wanted me to wait another few weeks until I do a colonoscopy (which is next) since i have never had problems in the past. I have been treated for possible giardi with flagyl. The diareah stopped, but the nausea ia aweful - epecailly in the morning. I am not pregnant. The antibiotic wrecked my stomach and gave me aweful side effect. I have been off the antibiotic for 4 days now and my stomach acid/gas is bad. what should I do next? is it possible that I am still having side effects from the flagyl. I was put on phenergan for nausea- not working. Any thoughts? Late afternoon and evening I feel fine. I have lost 26 pounds...

I know the doctor is not going to look at this again, but does anyone know specifically if flagyl can cause long lasting side effects..... thats sort of what i'm wondering. The side effects I experienced are nausea, lightheadedness, headaches... I have heard of people complaining of these side effects well after the treatment (weeks) didn't know if that was true and if anyone can confirm, thanks.

PLEASE HELP THIS MAKES ME VERY CRAZY AND HATE FOR MY COMING TO THIS WORLD.GOD WILL GIVE FOR ALL YOUR HELP.
I am 23 year old male,

Some of my symptoms in the ABOVE comments have some similarities with mine.
ANY ONE WHO HAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS LIKE  ME  OR ANY WHO CAN GIVE ME ADVICE IS VERY APPRECIABLE
My current situation is
1)I do have vomiting during morning
2)very weak & tired feeling in my legs starting morning up to late morninig 11a.m
3)high constipation(if feaces gose off on time my appitite increase)
4)some times burning at my back side started before 2 monthes.
5)i don't have any reflux acid
6)i don't have burninig or pain in my stomach
7)i am not addicted to any drug.
DOES THIS REALY BE THE HPYLORI BACTERIA OR ANOTHER?
you can contact me through grmahun_2006***@****

HERE IS MY BACK HISTORY
Before 3 years i start to have these signs; want to vomit & weaknes during morning
wakeup, loss in appitite specially during morning and if i slept during day. This increases from time to time for 2 years and developed high constipation.
Then i went to a specialist doctor last year, after checking my blood, stool&urine he told me i am H pylori positive. As a treatment he gave me the antibiotics ammoxaxilin, calathromycin, omoprazole(lucid) for 14 days.i didn't take the ammoxaxilin  correctly case i do afraid of these medicine after taking at one time before for another treatment , but i did take the two antibiotics.it seem better during taking the medicine but it returns after all the medicine is taken.then i went back to the dr, he did nothing and told me he can not check for hpylori now it will be only checked after 2 years.
Though life was difficult i did live for 10 monthes by  wakeup around 5a.m with disturbed stomach & drinking water all this to make my engineering study.During my final exam tests of the year i again did have high vomiting during morning specially when i am very hungry during the night.
I WAS ALSO WORIED WHY THEY WERE DURING EXAMS DOES THIS CONNECT WITH STRESS?

Then i went to another dr,after blood test he told hpylori positive & give the same treatment as above for 14 days i did  take it (except the ammoxaxilin). But there is no change then i back to the doctor after a month he did check d-test for hpylori and told negative result. And gave me ranitidne & worms i took these but there is no change still.Though i did try all this with financial problems of the expensive medicines &lab tests nothing is changed.I can not take more testes like urea breathtest, endoscopy, biopsy becase they are not available here.
  SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH.

try getting checked for hypoglycemia. i have this and every morning is a nightmare. i'm always shaky, tired and nasueas as well as dizzy and light headed. try drinking some orange juice and eating some eggs, bacon and whole wheat toast upon waking. if htis helps then you probably have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and shouild see an endocrinologist.

Well the CT scan isn't until Monday but this morning I awoke again with that tingling sensation that goes from the top of my belly down to my thighs, followed by the 'full' up under the ribs feeling and then a slight feeling of indigestion and burping. Until I got out of bed, I started to feel pressure as well.

I cannot eat anything until this passes.

I have done my usual bowel movement but now I am fearful again thinking what in the hell did I swallow with that meat?

I am beginning to think I have chronic giardiasis that was not eradicated with the medicine or that I have some other unknown disease.

I am taking Pepcid and Prevacid but I don't actually have 'acid' indigestion, just this malaise and headache and DAMNED STOMACH ache that won't go away!

I cannot function like this as I'm always exhausted and wondering when my stomach will make me ill at any time. The doctor seems stumped. And now I'm starting to panic and cry a lot.

I wonder how piper123 is feeling.

Had a bad episode this morning.
Went to the doctor and he ordered a CT scan. I can't drink Iodine! Whole family is allergic.
What I really need is an upper endscopic exam so I called a gastro specialist and they will call me back.

I still have the flu-ish feeling, dull headache on top and behind the eyes and my cheekbone hurts. Eyes are puffy and dark rimmed.

Stomach is calm right now, but I still know 'it's there'.

I can only come to the conclusion that it has to be one of these things as I have NEVER had any trouble with my stomach before:

- Reaction to Flagyl destroying my stomach on top of the parasitic damage
- Still harboring Giardia parasites doing the damage
- Untested for two bacteria, on being HPylori (doc did not say the name of the other)
- Still can't kick a virus
- Gall bladder (it's on my left side but I do get that pain in the middle in the back!)

Exahusted and going to bed.
I'm usually 'my age but going on 15' and this is really making me nuts.

I don't see my comment that was just posted so I'll try again.
I have the same problem as Piper.

I am feeling just as badly as before I went on the Flagyl.

I have little tolerance for stomach problems, never had any before!

Since around August 9th 2006 I have had some sort of stomach bug that came on me suddenly.

I was in severe distress and 3 weeks later was treated with Flagyl.

I have been off the Flagyl now for two weeks and I'm still sick with the upper GI distress, morning nausea and black circles and feeling like I still have something or a virus in there.

I am so weak and tired. I was in the ER and they did not find anything.

What to do next? I have called the doctor today to say that treating me with Pepcid or Prevacid for an upset stomach is just not helping.

I feel like there is something 'in there' just like Piper's complaint.

I am otherwise always very healthy and never have had any stomach problems before.

I hope this helps you Patricia. I used to feel dizzy, shaky, and just plain sick for months and I went through every test imaginable. Every one came back negative. After about 9 months of feeling this way with no answers, my doctor finally suggested that it could be anxiety/depression. I kept telling him i wasn't depressed. He told me sometimes you can get ONLY physical symtoms but feel fine emotionally. He asked me to just TRY an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety pill for 2 weeks and just see if it helped me. I figured I didn't have anything to lose, so I tried it. In about 2 weeks I felt perfectly NORMAL!!!! I was thrilled!
I don't know if this is what you have, but if you haven't tried it yet PLEASE give it a try. It really sounds to me like you have the physical symptoms of anxiety. I really hope this helps you....please don't take your life....let me know!

I am hoping someone can help me. My otherwise healthy 15 year-old son has recently started feeling naseaus in the mornings. He feels light-headed if he stands too long, like after taking a shower. He hardly wants to eat breakfast and usually after eating anything, he vomits within 15 minutes to 1/2 hour later. The rest of the day his appetite is good and he feels fine. On mornings when he sleeps in he is fine...just not when he has to wake up early. He is very outgoing and not an anxious or depressed person, so I don't feel it is nerves. He is a very healthy weight and height for his age and is fairly active. Not overweight, non-smoker, non-drinker, etc. But he definitely does not feel well almost every morning. I am at a loss as to why he feels this way every day. Usually after he vomits he feels better. Any suggestions would be welcome!!!! Please help!

I can truly identify with everyone.  I've been off Flagyl for 4 weeks and I still feel sick. While I was on it, I was in the emergency room twice and my M.D. once.  No-one every questioned the Flagyl.  I was SICK.  I thought I would never leave my bedroom again, that I would die there. Besides loss of appetite, metal taste in mouth, dehydration, heart pounding and palpitations, there was deep depression, death dreams, muscle pain, speech problems, panic attacks and anxiety, extreme fatigue, disorientation...the list could go on.  I still feel like someone took me in the back alley and beat the snot out of me. I have neck and left arm muscle pain, nausea, fatigue - a general feeling like it's more than I can do to put one foot in front of the other.  Thank goodness, I started Zoloft at about the same time and I'm getting a little relief. Blood work, stool sample, and CT all came back normal.  It's hard to understand how I still feel so bad.  I just thank God that I went through this before a Dr. tried to put my 73 year old mother on Flagyl.  She told him "NO WAY!!, It nearly killed my daughter".  Other sites state the effects can last for many months.  That's not very comforting.

Thanks everyone for all your help.
I have been in and out of the hospital with no answers until last week. A toxicologist contacted me and thought that perhaps I had toxic levels of flagyl in my system.
I was suppose to be on 250mg twice a day for 5 days and I was prescribed 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. I was never prescibed a compounder for the acid build up in my stomach and now also have gastritous. The levels acted as a poison. The flagyl even in small doses wrecks your system and my flora and every organ was just effected and not working properly. It will take 4-6 weeks to begin to feel better and possible 4 months to get all the flagyl out of me. thanks for all your help and good luck to everyone!

I had the very same symptoms two years ago.  I was incredibly nauseous in the morning, tired, listless, etc., and then would feel better as the day progressed, and normal by evening.  After 8 weeks and a weight loss of 30 pounds, I was finally referred to a teaching hospital where I was diagnosed with gastroparesis.  When the treatment kicked in, the nausea went away.  If you have gastroparesis, some of the treatments listed here would make the symptoms worse.  Ask for a stomach emptying test.

Piper, I have been expreriencing nearly the same exact symptoms since the end of June.  I am extremely nauseated in the morning, feel shaky, lightheaded etc.  By 2 or 3 in the afternoon I begin to feel back to my normal self.  It is so difficult to function in the mornings feeling so awful.  I've been taking prilosec, that helps a little. I have been to the ER as well bc the lightheadedness was getting so bad. I have an upper GI this week.  I'm dying to know what is causing such problems.  Let me know if you find anything out about yourself.

I am going through the same thing and I feel for you.  I have been  to the ER twice, saw my family doctor last Wed., and will be seeing her again tomorrow.  I think they did all the basic blood work, plus thyroid and stool sample.  Still waiting for results of stool sample.  I feel worst in the morning through mid-afternoon.  Don't feel great in the afternoon-evening, but better.  I really have to force food, and it's not that much.  Let me know how things work out for you.

Thanks... I am on protonix in the morning for acid, but it irritates my stomach and gives me stomach shakes. I was told to try and add pepto when the shakes start... which does help alittle, but I just am so nauseus. I have done all the reg blood work thus far. The doc thinks it may still be related to the flagyl, but it has been well over two weeks now since I have been off the medication. One thing that they have noticed is that I have low blood pressure. Pressure changes extremely from laying to sitting, to standing (didn't before) Low blood pressure can cause headaches and dizzies, nausea. I don't know going back tomorrow... Going on almost 8 weeks now.. getting old. let me know what you find out.

why dont you look up the side effects of Flagyl?
Your flora could have been altered by prolong usage .

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
There can be various GI causes of persistent nausea.  This can include gastroparesis, esophageal dysmotility, GERD, an ulcer, or inflammation of the upper digestive tract.

An upper endoscopy or upper GI series can evaluate for many of these disorders.  If negative, an abdominal ultrasound can be considered to look at the gallbladder.

More specialized testing can be considered if the tests continue to be non-revealing.  This can include esophageal motility studies to look for dysmotility as well as a gastric emptying scan to evaluate for gastroparesis.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
