Rectal Bleeding

I gave birth to a 8 pound baby three months ago. I pushed for three hours. I had very bad hemorrhoids after that. I still have them, I take colace every night to try to ease the problem, however I can still feel some pain when I have a bowel movement and see alot of blood. Most times only on the tissue but sometimes enough to turn the water red. What can I do to ease this problem. Thank You.

I,too, have had this problem.  I was told to take a stool softener.  It is not a laxative, it just make the the stool slide through without roughing up the edges.  This gives the lining a chance to heal without further damage.  Maybe this would work for you.  This was a few years ago, ocasionally I still have some bleeding, but not very often.
Seeing blood is scarry, but this is not a serious problem.

Best to you.

Colace is a stool softner.  You also need to make sure you drink plenty of water and you might also try taking Metamucil or Citricel as well.  I had a hemmrhoidectomy in February so I certainly know all about hemmrhoids.  Any other questions you have please feel free to ask.  You also need to be eating a high fiber diet, but most importantly is your water intake.  Take care and best of luck to you.
