Thank you for the response to my earlier post. I agree with your comment on the cyst and have always thought this. One thing on the lower right side issue, this is more of a soreness versus a pain. I have had this for 3-4 years now. The abdominal and back issues just started a month ago. The abdominal issue is also more of a soreness most noticable when I sit. When I stand and lay down I dont really notice it much. As I meantioned no other issues such a fever, nauhea, etc except what I would call nervous stomach.  I will take your advice and ask about a kidney stone but if that, would this not have passed by now?

Is there any way this could be IBS? I have an incredibly stressful job and have also been feeling a bit down (depressed) lateley which has been noticed by others as not being as happy as I normally am. I have attributed this to the ongoing discomfort but have been reading a lot on IBS and some of my sypmtoms seem to fit.

Kidney stones can stay for a long time if they're shaped with a hook-like side that can keep them stuck.  IBS is a common cause of ongoing abdominal pain with a great variety of symptoms.  Muscle strain can be chronic and ongoing as well.  Ask your doctor.

Thank you Doctor for the advise, its greatly appreciated. One final question, I am concerned about colon cancer, should I be based on what I have shared with you. I am because of the lower right side pain I have expereinced for 3-4 years now. I assume if colon cancer I would have had a number of other symptoms by now. I worry as I dont think there is much else on the lower right side that would cause the soreness?

colon and other abdominal cancers are always a concern with chronic abdominal pain.  Many different tests look for these including a hemogram, different enzyme levels (e.g. liver function tests/lipase/amylase), and xrays such as cat scans and ultrasounds.  It's worth asking your doctor if any of these would be helpful.
