I had this done 3 years ago--and I wish I had never done it.  After the first initial year, you really do not lose any more weight unless you "watch what you eat"!!! So, in a nutshell, you still have to not eat the foods that are fatty (which are the only ones that go down and not come back up).  I have been throwing up a whole lot, then got a hernia, then had more surgery, now I have lung damage from acid reflux--when I sleep at night it comes up and goes in my lungs and then I am in the hospital for a week with pnuemonia like symptoms.  Email me---we can talk--dont do this.

i spoke with someone today who had this done, you just have to be careful with what foods you eat and make sure and chew everything up very good.  Follow the doctors orders on the amount of food you consume and when you feel full stop eating.  You know there are risks with any operation.  But as the other comment said you can lose weight if you try, but sometimes it goes further then trying it is genetics and you can do nothing about it, before you know it months turn to years and you are faced with high blood pressure, heart probelms and losing out on a good quaitly of life the risks from NOT doing it out weigh the risks of DOING it.  You have to be Morbidly overweight to have it done (at least 100 lbs.) for your body height and weight.  Think about it talk to your doctor and family.  Good Luck!

My mother is not alive today because of those stomach reduction operations.  She had blockages all the time  many additional operations casing kidney failure and lots of other things.  They started taking out anything and everything to fix problems they created.  If  you want to lose weight, use your strength to do it.  You can you know. Don't mess with something God created to work that man will mess up.
