Stool COlor
If my bile is within limits, what can cause my mustardy stool. When the stool is hard, it's brown, when it's softer ir's mustard. ALl my LFT are normal, including CBC. ALso, I am seeing mucous in the stool. I have clear urine, no jaundice, no stomach pains, what can this be. CT scan in December normal

You sound like me!I have been to er 2 times and had lab done 3 times and had upper scope wes said i had 2 stomach polps and one was bleeding (removed them)and that was it did hidascan also said it looked good.When I eat I get severe cramps in upper part i guess intestin sence stomach ok.....and it burns and then i have to run to bathroom with yellow burning .stool i mean it burns so bad it makes me bleed.I have had gallbladder checked it is ok...anyone know anything about this
Hi, This is weird...The for about the last week I have more than usual heartburn and ended up going to the urgent care doctor two days ago. I was given a "GI-Cocktail" to help my stomach, which oddly worked well. Yesterday I had to take another Pepcid to take of the heartburn, which this time worked, but I have had something else happen know. I have YELLOW POO!! And sometimes with bits of undigested food..why? I am very concerned. I am a bit of a hypochondriac so my mind is just going a mile a minute with horrible possibilities! Can anyone help?
I have been sick off and on for a year.But about a month ago it got worse.I started having bile taste in my mouth and I would run to the bathroom with cramps and bright yellow stool.And my stomach burns about 15 mins after I eat anything, even water.Dont have ins.so I couldnt really afford to go to doc.I have been taking nexium for 1 year now 40 mg.When I go to restroom it burns really bad like the stool is acidy.it freaked me out because I thought I could have pancreas cancer,I went to er and they thought I was crazy because I am only 31,and saying all this !!Anyways I had ultrasound and lab for liver and pancreas all was good even ultra sound,sent me home told me to take nexium and pepcid....I got so sick and couldnt even have energy to walk because of lack of food that makes me really sick.I am not even hungry.I went to my home town doc and she said it was that my glallbladder was producing to much bile and put me on cholestyramine powder and sucralfate.the powder is suppose to help slow the bile down and the pill is suppose to help coat the stomach....i was wondering if the ultrasound was good then what makes them think it is my glabladder and if it is what makes it produce so much bile????????

Allybella, my heart goes out to you. Your fear is so strong that it comes across as being tangible. What you really need to do is try, try, as best you can, to stop paying attention to those little things like stool color, etc. You've gotten a clean bill of health. I know the mistrust you feel, and granted, some Dr's may be better/worse than others, but you need to try and put a little bit of faith in the medical profession, as it will ease some of the burdeon of the load you carry.
I am also a mother of 2 very young children, 30 years old. I sympathise w/ your feelings because I can relate to a lot of it. Hypochondriasis is a life-altering syndrome. You need to address THIS issue, as much, if not more than you're addressing your physical issues. There are many approaches you can take, psychotherapy, hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, etc. You can try them all. Or, you can just give it to God, whatever you concieve him to be, and just transfer your faith and trust to him, knowing that whatever it is that's bothering you, you can leave it in His capable hands to fix.

Please don't laugh at me, but here goes... The symptom of burning feet, according to the popular "House MD" tv series, goes along w/ gold poisoning. Perhaps you might want to consider being tested for heavy metals?

hello, i too have this problem for 2 years now. After months, i also began to have muscle pains, joint pains, and burning feet.
ive had colonoscopy, upper scope, ultrasound, ct abdomen,tons of blood work and more, and they find nothing.

Alybella, I've been reading your posts and thought maybe I could alleviate some of your concerns. I am a 26 y/o female and developed severe acute pancreatitis 2 years ago, which has now developed into chronic pancreatitis. Mine is caused from High levels of triglycerides in my blood. I take Tricor, but have a family history of high triglycerides so it's hard to control. Anyways, when i developed the pancreatitis it came with severe abdominal pain in the left upper abdomen, and radiated to my left flank (back). I also had severe nausea.
When they told me a few months ago that I now have chronic pancreaitis, i was having color changes in my stool, but they were very very very light yellow and sometimes clay colored. Not to be gross, but they also float due to the malabsorption of fats. All of this comes with nausea and abdominal pain. I now take pancreatic enzymes with every meal and my stools are returning to normal. There is no cure for CP, but you CAN live with it, although I have to deal with the pain/nausea. When I had the acute pancreatitis, my amylase and lipase were both sky high. So it's good that yours are within normal limits. It sounds very unlikely that you have pancreas problems being that you have no other symptoms. Hope that helps some!

I don't know what is wrong with my stool, but it is neither brown or yellow it is a hunter green color. I haven't changed my diet or eating habits but it must be something wrong if these are not normal colors. Will someone please explain what the problem might be.

HI linda, tou are an angel. Well after 3 ER visits I'm a little calmer. Yesterday they checked my AMylase whihc is a pacnreatic enzyme, it was low, the nurse said veryhting was perfect. But ofcourse I go online and panick because out of like 20 websites all saying it was nothin, one said it could ne pancrteatic cancer. Well I ran to the ER, the DC. said that it indicated cancer oly when it is high not low, that where in the world did I open that website, he sais he refused to do an ABD CT becasue I do not have pancreatic cancer. He said yellow stool is not related to pancreatic cancer, he said my stools would be white like the sheets. ANyone know about amylase, I ope he was right tellimng me that when it;s low it' fine, it's bad when it's high. I guess at some point I have to begin to believe this DC. he's a real recognizalble fighure in medicine down here. Before I left he grabbed my face and said you do not have pancreatic cancer.

You can consider irritable bowel syndrome, malabsorption as well as inflammatory bowel disease.
Sending the stool off for fat malabsorption, as well as blood tests looking for celiac disease can be considered. I would also consider a lower endoscopy (i.e. a colonoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy) to further evaluate for any inflammation.

You should see a doctor with your concerns of yellow stools so they can do a stool culture, and possibly a sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy. Mucous and blood in stools should be evaluated, to rule out other causes such as IBS or Crohn's disease. If you have no fever, no pain, etc., I would relax. Best wishes to you.
Someone please have mercy and help, I don't want my daughters to see me in this state, My 5 year old keeps on asking me if I'm OK. I'm hurting my whole family. I admit to suffer from severe hypochodi=ria, but I'm not making up the yellow poop. Gos I'm lost in a place that is so horrible that I cannot describe it. If anyone out there suffers from hypochondria please rely. I don't want to live like this anymore. One day is pancreatic cnacer, colon cancer, liver cancer, MS, CHF, kidney disease, lupus, etc... I don't know how much longer I can cope with this. My bosy cannot take this monster inside me anymore. I apologize I am crying as I write this so I may ahve many mispelled words. God has blessed me with a beautiful family, and I'm scared of it falling apart. I am loosing my friends, my family and myself. I don't know idf to just go to the ER and demand some test.

Hi again, first of all, iron pills are constipating. If you tend to get hemorrhoids, it will make things worse. Bright red blood can be caused by hemorrhoids and if you are using the pph suppositories, it can look like you have mucous in your stool, but it is really the "dissolved" suppository. Hope you are feeling better today.

I appreciate you being so kind and responding to my eradic posts. My concern are the following:
Stools appeared to me more yellow than normal, nevel clay, putty, or very pale yellow ( which is what I believe to be considered pale stool, is that correct?
Hemrrhoids became ver enlarged, protuding like cauliflowers, about 9 at this time, after days of straining now I have light colored blood in toilet paper and surrounding the stool, not inside it.
ALso after close excamination of stool, ( I have become crazy) I notice muscos surrounding it. Actually mucos has come out after I stain alot to push something out, which then comes out straked with some blood.
Stool is solid some pebble shapped, some have actually gotten alot more bulky and round and not thin.
My bill was normal, liver panel normal, CBC normal, CMP mormal, PT/PTT normal, glucose normal, the Doctor said my blood work was spectacular, all these tets were performed in the ER. I just don't understand why he didn't oder a CT scan of the abdomen, I did have one performed in December whihc was unremarkable.
At my age 29, with a mom and dad with IBS, goinf under enormus amount of straa can this ailments be related to IN=BS. My concern is that they are related to biliary obstruction, problesm, with my liver or pancreas? Where would pancreatic pain be reflected, in the upper right quandrant???

Yesterday I decided to take an iron pill, and ofcourse my stool is normal color today, dark brown, but I guess it's becasue of the iron, not because I'm better. Also, I have pushed so hard, my hemmies are uncontrollable and I am bleeding bright red with my stool, can this be caused by my hemmies? ALso, my nerves do not let anything opast my throat to eat since yesterday, I was eating fine befire all this stuff, can it be my nerves?
