bloating of the stomach after alcohol consumption
Hello,
For the past year now I've been experiencing swelling of the stomach region and gas following a night of binge drinking. I'm 30 years old and since the age of 17 I've been consuming 10 or more beverages of alcohol every weekend. Last year I went to see a doctor because I had symptoms of bloating and severe discomfort in the stomach regions, but after blood work, the doctor said there was nothing wrong with me. When I lay off the alcohol for a couple of weeks my body gets back to normal, but when I consume large amounts of alcohol (10 or more drinks) at a time, it takes me a few days to feel better again. My symptoms for those few days include swelling and discomfort in the abdominal region, gas, and loose stools. These are symptoms that I never used to get. Is there something wrong with my liver, or am I just getting older and cannot drink the way that I used to.

Problems with the liver, gallbladder as well as upper GI diseases like GERD, ulcers, and inflammation can cause the symptoms.
You can consider an initial workup including a liver ultrasound, upper GI series, as well as blood tests to evaluate the liver enzymes. A blood test looking for the bacteria H Pylori can also be considered.
If negative, you may want to consider irritable bowel syndrome as a possible cause.

Drinking causes that in your stomach area.
Candida feeds on alcohol. You might have intestinal candida overgrowth (the yeast, candida albicans). Your symptoms sound like it might candida. Is your tongue white. Sometimes that's a symptom, but not always.
