I would get tested for celiac disease. You have some of the symptoms of it and if left untreated it could cause cancer. It usually only occurs in infants and older people but I am only 19 and I have it. All it takes is a blood test to check for certain antibodies.
this message is for donnabrock .i waited for a reply back as to understand what you ment by your last statement .the fact is there is no test out there that myself or anyone else can say is completely conclusive there is no fail safe method .the people on this forum are simply sharing info ,ideas ,and what they have been through in hopes of helping someone else.and no you are correct the test is not 100% conclusive(no test is!!) but at this point the majority of gastro specialest and patients believe in the test because it has been proven to find many problems where other test have failed. i for one had every test in the world done prior to the colonoscopy test and none of them found the problem .so if it will save just one person from going through what i went through for years then it is worth it.and i am sure for the countless others with digestive health problems with no answers in sight fill the same .i wish you well.mary ann
this is for donnabrock ,i am not sure what you statement means .please reply !!thanks: mary ann
colonoscopy is inconclusive I said
I agree with EVERYTHING that the others said to you!
I also think you should see a good DIETICIAN. They can often do wonders for people, by helping them to eat a BETTER DIET, that is taylored to their specific medical conditions! Here are some examples:
If the Dietician recommends GLUTEN-FREE food, in case you have CELIAC DISEASE, you can find these at health food stores, and also by avoiding WHEAT, RYE, OATS, BARLEY, AND BUCKWHEAT. Brown rice is safe ("gluten-free"). If you go onto a gluten-free diet for at least one week, and if you see improvement, you might very well have Celiac Disease. It is easily treated, by staying on a gluten-free diet. We have a friend, having Celiac Disease, who is well now, because he went onto a gluten-free diet.
If the Dietician recommends ACIDOPHILUS/BIFIDUS, which are beneficial "pro-biotics", usally killed off by taking ANTI-BIOTICS AND OTHER MEDS, you can find them at health food stores.
If you are LACTOSE INTOLERANT, you can try taking LACTASE ENZYMES ("Lactaid") which should stop the diarrhea, bloat, and cramps that often result from eating milk products, (which contain "milk sugar"/"lactose").
Look at books at health food stores, and check on natural remedies for various conditions, using the internet. Do remember that there are good AND bad sources out there! And that includes BOTH regular ("orthodox") and natural ("holistic") medicine!
Good luck! I hope you feel better soon.
Sincerely, Concerned lady

well i do have ascid reflux and ulcers, and ibs and fibroid myalgia and not to mention i have had colon surgery i am 42 and you are correct they do make a bundel off of us only still they have yet to cure .the best thing i can tell you is get another opion and another if you have to because just about every one on this forum has had to do just that before we could finally comming up with a diagnoses .h.pylori can normaly be treated with antibiotics.have they tried that yet .quite frqankly i think you should have the colonoscopy done you won't fill a thing they put you under for it .and it is the best test out there for finding digestive problems that other test miss.if your present gastro doc does not want to do it go to a gastro /digestive specialest that will .good luck and don't give up .god bless
I got an upper GI yesterday (If you had the lower you WOULD remember!) The barium went through from mouth to rectum in 8 minutes and the doctor was baffled. They were looking for stones because I have sharp pains last 5 years under my right rib. (Gallbladder) I have runny or movements that are non-solid. Occassionally very greasy or what looks like jelly, clear. After loads of research and so forth. We think maybe h.pylori. The endoscopic test is inconclusive. But a simple blood test is very conclusive. You can have this bacterium all your life. The h.pylori causes these symptoms plus reflux and bloated fullness, acid stomach. I have been diagnosed with 3 ulcers just on the symptoms. Always with change in lifestyle and eating plus loads of acid reducers. It calms the symptons which will return after a few months or years. I haven't been able to have simple orange juice in years. 9 out of 10 people diagnosed with ulcers or reflux have tested positive for h. pylori. The CDC only admitted 3 years ago that it is the cause. The medical profession makes LOTS of money from ulcers and digestive problems and if they give pills for 2 weeks they would lose that income. Then they send you to psychiatrist who tell you to change your lifestyle.
Go to your doc and insist on the BLOOD or BREATH test...both are simple and stool samples and biopsies wont show anything!
NOT TO SAY THAT IBS.SYNDROME IS NOT REAL I SIMPLY DO NOT PUT THAT MUCH STOCK INTO IT FOR THE SIMPLE REASON BEFORE I CHANGED MY GASTRO/DIGESTIVE SPECIALEST THAT IS ALL I HEARD .IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE WAS A MORE SERIOUS UNDER LYING DIGESTIVE PROBLEM WHICH I HAD COLON SURGERY FOR SO MY RESPONCE IS GET THE BEST GASTRO SPECIALEST IN YOUR AREA AND LET HIM RUN A COLONOSCOPY ON YOU .DIVERTICULITIS IS KNOWN TO COME IN BOUTS ALSO OTHER DIGESTIVE CONDITIONS ARE KNOWNTOPOP UP EVER NOW THEN IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A CONSTANT ISUE.SO THE BEST THING IS( BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY)GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK.
