Can an entire litter of puppies die from their first vaccination

My family and I ordered an extremely rare and expensive breed of dog back in October last year.  Finally nature took its course.  Last week my puppy would have turned 11 weeks.  At the beginning of last week the breeder and I were arranging shipping.  By the end of the week all the dogs were dead.
The breeder told me he suspects vaccinations.  My family and I are left with a few questions.  Could vaccinating the puppies be the causes of their death.  From a customers standpoint what should my family now do?  Is the vet or the breeder responsible for any more than just giving me my money back after the nine month wait ?
Should my family wait another 5-6 months to maybe have a replacement conceived  and another few months until it’s old enough to come home.  This is such a rare dog that there aren’t really any other breeders able to produce the custom dog I am looking for and I think the only ones of its kind born in North America this year all died with mine.  I prefer not to mention the exact breed because then it would be easy to figure out the breeder. I don’t want to slander anyone.  I am sure he is devastated about the situation just like I am.  This is a very difficult situation and decision for me and my family and I would greatly appreciate some professional advice

I agree. The story of them all dying sounds to fishy. Get your money back. If they have another litter down the road and and you still want that breed then try again but breeders story doesnt sound right

I live a bit south of you in Ohio.  :>)  Yes, our weather has warmed up and our dog is happy to stretch her legs outside.  You'll have your new family member soon, I'm sure.  I am sure it's disappointing to all but hopefully you can expedite things to bring a pup home very soon!  Then it is like having a new baby in the house.  We can share training ideas with you! There are a lot of forums here and I am on Relationships often so if you are around and have a minute, stop by that forum!  Would love to see you  around.

And yes, people lie which is unfortunate.  You can leave a review for that breeder telling of what happened to warn others.  I think I'd do that as it is emotional to think you are waiting on a pup and then have it ripped out from under you.

That doesn't sound right. Are you sure they aren't making up a story?  Perhaps they sold the pups to someone near by that was easier, perhaps something happened to the pups based on their neglect (poisoning or something), etc.  No, I don't think you have any recourse other than getting a full refund.  I wouldn't wait on another dog from them. And perhaps a different breed would be something to look into so you aren't saddled with long waits.  There are so many dogs out there needing homes.  You'll love whatever dog you get.

By the way, I got a dog and it was not what I had been told or thought when we got her.  I did it over the internet.  Our family dog had died suddenly and tragically so we needed a band aid of a puppy to soothe our wounds.  I got the puppy and realized about a month later that it was a dog that sheds and we had planned on a non shedding mixed breed.  But you know what . . . too late.  We loved her.  The person we got her from lied.  But she's such a great pet and although I'm constantly cleaning up dog hair . . .sigh . . . it's worth it.  So, you'll love whatever dog you get, I promise.  I'm sure this is very disappointing.

Thank you very much for your kind words.  Everything you said was the exact thoughts that were running through my mind also.  It is sometimes  difficult to make decisions and think clearly with a head clouded full of emotions.  I am a person that could not even imagine lying to someone about such things.  Perhaps I am a bit too trusting in humanity in our ever-changing world.   Our family is hoping to have success this week in our search  for  our new puppy.  It is absolutely wonderful of you to take the time to respond to my question.   The long weekend is quickly approaching.  I don’t know where in the world you are from but I am from Ontario Canada.   Nice weather and our summer has just started.  May 24 weekend is the Perfect time for long haired pets to finally get out from being cooped up all winter to run and swim and get dirty in the lakes and rivers.
