Any news? I've wondered all night.....I sure hope this worked out...Please, come back and let us know......Thanks, Karla
I'm still concerned about the Pepto because it contains Aspirin....Since, you already gave Aspirin, I would lean on the side of Caution....(Maybe HALF the recommended dose at the most!). He sure doesn't need Aspirin toxicity at this point!
Put some Ice Cubes in his bowl of Pedialyte. He may like the coolness better.....
Call the your Vet tomorrow & tell them what happened....They will want to check for blockage since we don't know what he ate....Blockage can be fatal if left untreated.....They will ask if he is able to poop so be watching his stools.....
Otherwise they will give him meds for nausea & pain, etc.....It will end up less than an Emergency Room visit, however....
Keep him hydrated till you get there....This can save his life.....Good luck and please let us know how your both doing......Karla
Have you tried contacting the Poison Control contacts posted at the top of the Forum???
Yes, you can give the dog Pepto Bismol. If you do, give the children's dose.
Do you have any idea what they got into in the trash??? Was there anything caustic/poisonous? Old food? Do you still have the trash they got into? If so, I hope your pup makes it and you can get to the Vet tomorrow and take the trash with you. I'm not sure what you are dealing with, perhaps pancreatitis..............
Do Not Give the Pepto...For some reason, I'm thinking it is no longer safe for dogs....I have to go look...I'll be back!
he is a husky about 6 months old and 35 maybe 40 lbs, someone on another site recommended pepto bismo, I went to the store got the pedialyte and he is drinking it and he has held it down for at least 20 minutes, Thank you very much.... oh and he has had all his shots to current month.... he also went outside to pee and drank a bit of water.....
OK...Can you get to a store? You need to go get a bottle of Children's Pedialyte any flavor...You don't say if this is a small or large puppy or how old he is.....Buy a Turkey Baster For a large dog, or a children's medicine syringe for a small dog....
DO NOT try to feed any food and be carefull with Aspirin....It can cause stomach irritation or even bleeding ulcers after as little as one dose.....Your guys stomach cannot take any more damage!
Keep him hydrated w/ Pedialyte all night....Keep him warm....Call your regular Vet first thing in the morning and tell them you have an Emergency.....I hope your guy makes it through the night....Good luck and please come back if you can.....That's all I can think of I'm sorry to say.........Karla
I called the vet they said just to see him is 300.00 then it could go up to 1000.00 or more and i just don't have it right now i am taking care of my critically ill father right now to who is in the I.C.U. at the moment, trust me we are cring our eyes out tring everything, and if had it he would be up there and i begged them to help him or even take him to just save him..... I got him drinking water and I a hoping if he is drinking he will be ok, I also gave him dog asprin... I am tring my best, that is why i came here and other places asking for more help.....
If your first dog died, why haven't you rushed the other one to the vet ASAP? He is suffering terribly, and your doing nothing.
What I meant to say: "Do NOT let him suffer any longer!!!!"
Your SECOND puppy is dying.....Get him to the Emergency Clinic, NOW!!!!! Do not let him suffer!!!!!! Karla
