Alabama Rot outbreak in the United Kingdom

A major outbreak of the rare E.coli infection called Alabama Rot has occurred in the New Forest area of the UK, killing 17 dogs and infecting many more. The source of the bacteria has yet to be identified, despite months of formal investigation, and there is a real fear the outbreak could spread to endanger the health and lives of many hundreds of family pets. For the most up-to-date information and advice for dog walkers using the areas affected please visit, read and share my article which is available here: http://www.infobarrel.com/Alabama_Rot_and_the_Danger_of_Dog_Walking

Thanks, will have to read that later.  Thanks for posting.

Seems odd the UK would have a disease called Alabama Rot.

Thanks Karla. Yes, it's not receiving the publicity it should in the UK. It's quite frightening to think dog owners are still walking their dogs around the New Forest, believing they are safe to do so, when the Environment Agency and other professionals still have no idea where or what the source of the outbreak is.
