Bumps on dog

A couple days ago I saw a flee on my 6 month old Mini Dachshund. I gave him a flee treatment, (the kind you squeeze onto the neck at tail.  The next day, I noticed he was still itching, and he had a large bump, about the size of a half dollar on his back and it looked like he had scratched off the hair from that area.  I was told by a person at the pet store that he probably had an allergy to flees, but to keep an eye on it. A couple days later the large bump was almost gone, but I noticed several smaller bumps on his back.  There was a cluster in one area, and a couple in other parts of his body. He is scratching more than usual and the area feels dry. Can it be a flee allergy, and if so, what should I do?

It could be a flea allergy or a allergy to the flea med. a vet can help.

Did you get your flea meds from a vet, or the cheap version from a store.  The store kind doesn't work, so  possibly he still has fleas.
