FLEAS!!!!! Yuck!

I have 2 chihuahuas & a pug. They have fleas & I literally cannot get rid of them! Not only do I feel disgusting because they have them, but the luck themselves raw! It's awful. We can't afford to get those pills from the vet & everything we have tried hasn't worked. I bathed them in Dawn & they're gone for a day but then they are covered in them again. I'm about to go insane! What are some ideas I could do to get rid of them?? Help!!

Maddies Mom just about said it all.  You have to treat inside and out.  Take the animals out and bomb the house.  If you can, while they are out, have a groomer give them flea baths or do it yourself.  They need to be on a regular topical or monthly oral med for the fleas.  You need to keep on top of it and treat your property regularly.  Due to my stupid neighbor feeding cats, I found fleas on my dog last year so I now have my property line sprayed monthly and the dog is on meds.
Do a Google search for getting rid of fleas on your pets and environment.

Sadly, fleas are HORRIBLE this year and it sounds as though you have an infestation. Been there, done that, and it's not an easy or cheap fix. I had to put mine on a pill AND topical, and hire a professional to treat the yard and bomb the house. It took about 3 months to get it all under control, all because of squirrels, opossums, and feral cats. Lavender water is a good natural repellant. DE or Diatomaceous Earth and Boric Acid is great too, but you have to treat all of your environment, bedding, sofas, chairs, carpets and flooring (anywhere pets are), aggressively. Read up on how to use each... Good luck.

Another point, wash all their pads/blankets or throw them out and carefully clean the areas they sleep in - maybe spray with some insecticide and keep the dogs away from the area for a day... careful here too to no use "too" much.  Read all warnings on labels..

Front Line Plus is a powerful anti-flea/tic topical (put on the skin) treatment.

It is a bit expensive but (this requires care and accuracy) but the cost on a small dog(s) can be reduced by buying the medication for a large dog and splitting one dose among two or three small dogs.  The task it measuring the dose.

There are other brands, some may be good, I point to Front Line because it is a market leader (likely available at Walmart) and it works on all the dogs I have seen it used on.

If you take my suggesting  be careful not to put too much on the dog.  For small dogs just a couple of drops on the sking behind their head would be my first try... and this stuff is long lasting, it is used once a month.
