When my dog contracted a UTI some years ago, her symptoms were exactly like this. But it's true, there could be other causes. Go get her checked out, and don't forget the sample!
i agree with misfits4me. my opinion is that it's a UTI and she probably needs antibiotics. theyre usually pretty easy to treat. i wouldn't wait too long before acting because she may already be in some pain (ie: burning sensation during urination) and the infection could quickly spread.
Hello & welcome.....No, this is NOT old age.....
First, you need to have a urinalysis done....She doesn't have to go, just collect a clean urine sample to take it to your Vet to be analyzed....If she hasn't been to the Vet lately, you will need her weight in case they need to prescribe an Antibiotic.....
However, At her age, if she has not had a Senior Blood Panel lately, she needs one.....There are diseases that can cause frequent urination and they're easier to treat when caught early....Most will show up on bloodwork..
All my dogs get blood panels & Kidney panels yearly, after the age of 5.....I don't like surprises!!!
I'm going with a UTI, but to be on the safe side, Rule out other issues, also.....Left untreated, UTI's can lead to Kidney Infection and this is harder to treat & more dangerous.....Plus, Very, Very Painful!
Good Luck and let us know what you find out....Karla
