Golden: Panting, vomiting, pain

Zoey is a 1 yerar old golden retriever.

Yesterday, she had a soup bone; she didn't eat the whole thing, but much of it.

This morning she ate, had some diarhea during the afternoon hours.

This evening (26 hours later) she is panting, vomiting, not keeping her evening meal down, and is whining in discomfort.

I fear intestinal blockage. Should I give it some time to clear up? Or should I take her in tonight?

I hope you took her in right away.  Anytime a dog shows these symptoms after ingesting an object like that, its a veterinary emergency.

Let us know what happened.

Any time a dog gets hold of rich "people" food, there is a risk of anything from plain old indigestion, to something very serious like pancreatitis.  Since it appears your dog's symptoms are worsening, it's very reasonable to just go ahead on to the vet.  Even if it isn't serious, your dog can be made much more comfortable with anti-nausea and diarrhea meds.

Hey,

I would call the vet to ask.  They are in the best position to advise and sometimes these things need to be addressed sooner rather than later.  You don't want your dog to remain in pain like that.  I know it can be expensive for nighttime hours (trust me, I just got done paying a HUGE bill from a 2 day hospitalization) but if it's necessary, it's worth it.
