Help Me!!!!

My dog is a rescue dog she is about 7-9 months. She has a problem of eating her feces and vomit. We really haven't found anything that works. The feces and vomit appear to be making her sick. So she keeps vomiting.

I agree with the previous poster about create training. Unforntuatly dogs have a habit of eating their feces (especially if its frozen in the cold weather outside) I don't know why they do it but they just do. Same with the vomit, sometimes they just think they need to clean up the mess. Be sure to clean up  as soon as you can, you can try and discourage the behaviour of eating the feces. Good luck.

Always clean the feces as soon as it happens. Then give the dog real food. It may have been in a situation where it had no food and it ate feces to live. So, it may take a little while. It needs to be fed well, seen by a vet and wormed and given it's shots. Then spend lots of time with it. Puppies are clumsy and some breeds are hard to train. So, just be patient. It will take love and lots of praise for the dog when it does the right thing and just ignore the bad things. You will need to crate this dog of confine it when you aren't home. Give it enough room to have dry food, a chew toy and if it makes a mess clean it when you get home. Take him out ASAP and take some of the feces out and lay it on the ground so it can smell it and this may help it with going outside. The training takes a while, they have to learn to hold it . So, if you will be gone for a long time only give a little food or a biscuit, take outside right away and  then feed and allow 10-15 mins. then take out.  It should go, if you walk it around foir a while. If not, put back in confinement and wait another 10-15 min, take out again. this is the training part. Once they learn to hold it and that you will take him out it will be much better. Please don't give up just try harder to understand and praise and treat when it does a good thing. Good luck. Miss Maty
