Is my dog dying??!

Sophie is a 10 month old female boxer. She has always been thin and we have struggled to find a food that she likes and to get her to get her weight up to where it should be. She eats and drinks water she just doesn't put on weight. She has always had energy and played until this morning. She woke up today and has no interest in any of her toys or playing at all. She's eating and drinking but has started drooling constantly. She is also pacing nonstop around the house from our basement to our second floor. She is taking the steps slower than usual as if she's very tired or possibly sore. She is not at all herself and I have no idea what the problem could be. I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her checked out but wanted to see if I could get any opinions on what could be wrong tonight. Thank you for your help.

It is 5 am and she hasn't slept at all and only allowed me to get an hour of sleep. She's worse than she was earlier. She's now breathing through her mouth and constantly has it open which she never does and her drooling is worse. She's also acting as if she can't see, she won't make eye contact and anything you move in front of her face she won't look at or follow with her eyes or by turning her head. She won't come when I call her and if she is near me she won't sit when asked. I'm calling the vet as soon as they open but I can't afford the emercency vet as their fees are too high. I'm completely heartbroken that this is happening and I have no idea what is going on with her and I feel like I've completely failed her by now being able to rush her to the emergency vet right now. I'm an absolute mess.

OK you're not alone. There's not much you can do but wait under the circumstances. I'm hoping by now, where you live the vet has opened? Just calm her, stroke her, show her you are with her, and I know this is hard, but try not to show her you are panicking. Talk to her very soothingly. Hang on, the two of you...

In the meantime, is there by chance an emergency out-of-hours service you can get to through your regular vet? (I don't know if that's available where you live. I live in the UK, and we have that. You call the vet's number, and there is an emergency number to ring for the "duty vet" out of hours...?)

I can't, obviously, tell you what might be the matter with her.

You may not need this, but it's there in case of a real emergency. Take  a look at this site if you have chance. There is a video which will help if you needed to resuscitate her.
(I hope you don't need this, but do look at it in case the worst happens.)

Hope she is ok....hang in there. I am thinking of both of you.

I'm going to take her to a vet I just have to wait a few hours until their offices are open to call and find someone who can see her. I'd like to take her right now to the emergency room at the animal hospital so that I don't have to wait but its a couple hundred dollars just to walk in.
