Lilly has a Discharge (Green Stuff) Comming From Her Eyes

Hi Doc,

I have a 3 year old (Inside Kept) Havanese dog that has never had an Eye Discharge problem until now.

Presently we are visiting our daughters home, note that she has 2 Inside/Outside Dogs and that during our stay of 5 days our Havanese dog has started Discharging a GREEN substance out the corner of her Eyes.

What do you suggest we can do in treating our  Havanese (Lilly).

Green discharge from any area means INFECTION! When caught early, eye infections are easy to treat....If left too long without treatment, it will spread to both eyes and can create more serious problems down the road....Even just scratching the inflamed eyes can lead to other eye ailments.....

Please get her into your Vet tomorrow and have this treated.......DO NOT use any OTC products on her eyes...She MUST have prescription ones from your Vet...Good luck and let us know how she is....Karla

She needs to go to the vet. The color green usually indicates infection. She needs to have fluroscein stain on her eye to make sure there is no ulcer. The vet may even perform a schrimer tear test to make sure she doesn't have dry eye.
