Milk Thistle for Liver Disease?

ask I had posted earlier, my 2 year old Chihuahua Tinkerbelle, has high liver enzymes in the 300+ and I have her already on ld and hills prescription ilk Thistle for Liver Disease...and was wondering if any one has used this...??? and if it really helps..  I have read the review and I'm very tempted to try it.  reason why is that I have used everything to hid her chewable tablet in, which I have to give on an empty stomach, and nothing works.

Didn't think of that...thank you. Guess when you're desperate and wanting answers the most direct one is the right one... I thought that probably crushing it might not be wise...but makes sense.  Thank you again, now for the long 2 month wait to get the blood test done and see if they are down.  I'm not the most patient person...:)

I looked on the site you refered me too...look good..  Although I compared the Demamarin with what I have...I give Tinker HALF the chewable tablet...so I believe she is getting the right dose?  I think I will start ordering from that site...some things I see are well worth looking at. Thank you.

I just threw them all out!!  Thanks for the heads up.  She is off all treats as of last week and I have noticed that her poop looks more like poop and not dark dark in color, which had me a little concerend, like black.  It is brown in color.  Thank you for filling me in on the Milk Thistle.  I'm having a horrible time getting the chewable Denamarin, any suggestions on how to hid them in something to get them dow?.  She has to take them on an empty stomach.  Also,I was thinking about just keeping her on her i/d food that she is eating now.  She loves it and its it all....where with the kibble royal canine, she grazes and only eats it after all begging for human food fail....so you think that would be okay?  Thank you again for all you help. Hi again, you state in another post that your dog is on Denamarin.....You bought it from the Vet for $60.49.....You were sold 225mg. which is for a medium size dog between 13-34lbs.... Most small dogs take 100mg.

About your question above: Demamarin already INCLUDES 24mg. of Milk Thistle so you already are covered there....Denamarin is not a prescription! You can purchase online....I use EntirelyPets.com for things like this....Your exact product sells for $38.99.....I believe they still have $5 shipping, but offer coupons all the time for free shipping......I have used this company for years...

Next: I evaluated your Royal Canine Food.....Although it's not a great product, it doesn't appear to have any toxins in it either......Just an average food with not enough protein!

The only thing (That I can find) that may be adding to this Enzyme problem are the Pupperoni Treats...They are loaded with dangerous chemical preservatives and dyes....

First danger: Propylene Glycol- a derivative of Antifreeze which is known to be poisonous to dogs! Here's a link:
www.dogfoodadvisor.com/red-flag-ingredients/propylene-glycol-dog-food-aid-or-automotive-anti-freeze/

Next: BHA- Known to cause cancer yet still used in low quality petfoods.
Here's the link:

These treats are also full of sugar (A no-no) & coloring agents....Unnecessary for our furry friends......Get rid of these treats!
