My 4 yr. old Iggy pee's in the house

Help!  My dogs have had a difficult time being potty trained without us being completely on top of it!  It's endless.
I FINALLY discovered, however, that even when I am taking them out at the correct times, feeding them correctly, crating them at night, and not giving them free rein of the house, my male IG still pees on every single little thing in the entire house.  Every closet, every bed corner, ever mirrored closet door...it's actually soooo bad that any new thing that comes in the house he makes sure to pee on.  I have tried everything to break him of this. i even had him fixed back in March of this year thinking it would solve the problem or at least help. My other Iggy is a female and she goes outside or on her potty pads that are down for her but not him he pee's everywhere but the potty pads! Can someone please help me!!!!!

Nikkie is spot on it !sure is a dominance thing, you must try to get rid of the smell as your home to him is one big toilet.Rinse and clean with white vinegar and sprinkle with bicarb soda to foam up the vinegar.
You must be the leader the dominant one.Try this ...every time he puts his leg up get a   strong squirt bottle or gun  and spray him his tummy where he wee's...saying in a loud voice NO.Put him out immediately and after about half an hour let him in then turn your back on him keep doing that so he cant see your face( they hate that) .Then go outside with him and when or if he performs make a huge fuss of him bring inside all is forgiven.Until the next time repeat as needed. If it works and an odd mistake is started just say No he will remember .To speed things up you can put new objects in front of him to make put his leg up.

That word No is very handy for any dominant thing he tries to do or it can be AH, Stop anything that is short and sharp and loud you are in control.

Failing that Nappies and Kinder lol.

Let us know how you go.GOOD LUCK.

Sometimes taking dogs for walks so they can explore and sniff around etc., they will be more likely to do their business outside. Just take him for a walk or play with him, just follow him around, and when he pees, reward him with something delicious like cheese or a little piece of hot dog or something. If he's about to pee in the house, stop him immediately and take him outside. If you keep him on a tight feeding schedule, that also helps. Give him a certain amount of time to eat, then pick the food up if not eaten. About an hour or so is enough time. Also, if you don't know when his peeing schedule is, you can try to train him to ring a bell by hitting it with his nose when he needs to go outside to do his business. You can do this fairly easily. Just ring the bell, or pick up his paw and hit the bell with it or something, then immediately say "outside" or something similar to that, and immediately let him out, and as soon as he pees, reward him. When he catches on, start rewarding him less and less. Just reward him when he gives you the behavior you want. Most dogs are smart, so they will catch on when you give them positive responses. Good luck!

First is he peeing or marking? If it marking( that what it sounds like peeing is large puddles)it harder to break but it can be done. How old was he when was neutered? If it was not done as a young puppy then he probably already had pick up the habitat.Has he always done it?Has there been any change in the house. Is he a small dog ?They tend to do it more then then big dogs.Well  usually they mark to show dominance, to  show this is mine especially when more the one dog in house, or lack of confidence  to mark helps build he confidence, if a change in the house new baby, new person, new pet, even new cloth, or furniture makes them marks,or it now a habit. That is just a few reason it would be nice to be able to ask them why he does but we can so we have to guess and help the best way we can. Here are some helpful suggestion that worked for me i have 4 dogs of  my own 2males and 2 females and fostered my dogs that had this problem. This well take diligence so i would do it when you can spend a couple of days at home keep he confided in small spot like kitchen with baby gate fill plastice bottle with coins put top on bottle watch him close as soon as it looks like he is going to mark doing circle or sniffing and as soon as he starts to lift his leg shack the bottle it will stop him from the act and he will get your attention say no pee, the next day let him out to roam the house do the same as above then when he is outside and pees in the right place give him praise .Some dogs can not be broke of this and will need the  belly band .Hope this helps.
