My dog has super bad dandruff.

My tiny dog has so much dry skin. Its beyond considering it dandruff. I've been giving him flee baths about once a week. Maybe a little less then that. What could I put on his skin that could help this problem?

Yorkues don't have an undercoat.  Not sure, due to the Chihuahua in there if your dog does.  I think I would still try a food change, cut down on the bathing, use the supplements and increase the brushing.  Do try that and see if you don't notice an improvement in a couple of weeks.

I am sorry to hear about your dogs dandruff and that's usually quite simple to clear up. Add a little extra virgin olive oil to your dogs meals and/or supplement with Essential Omega-3 Fatty Acids.
You might also reduce the weekly flea baths and intermix them with organic oatmeal baths which are quite soothing. Remember for most of us, the fall season is approaching which is when dogs shed their coats to prepare for winter.
I hope this is somewhat helpful
Thank you,

He is a 5 pound chihuahua/yorkie. I feed him Rachel rays dog food that has no byproduct or other fillers. He did have fleas but not anymore. I can't afford to take him to the vet because of my own health problems, which are horrible, and not been able to work. I don't think the problem is going to hard for me to treat at home. If not I'll cave in and ask my parents to help me out.

Part of the problem may be you are bathing too often and stripping the natural pils.  What breed dog is this? Do you have a flea problem?  Have you asked your Vet about a once a month topical treatment or the new oral Comfortis?
What food ate you feeding?  I would try transitioning to a food with no grain, esp corn.  You might try a small bag of the Pro Plan salmon or there are other foods available with fish in them.  You can try adding some Omega 3' or fish oil or Flaxseed oil once a day.  If this is a small dog, you don't need much.
If, after a week or two, you don't notice a difference them probably a Vet exam should be done to make sure there are no underlying medical issues.
Actually, cutting down on the bathing and a good brushing helps to stimulate the oil glands.
Good luck and keep us posted.
