My dog wont sit still

My dog ( a two year old, female, lab/pit mix) is suddenly having a hard time getting comfortable. She was fine all yesterday then shortly after I took her for a short, 20 min, walk last night, she seemed to have a hard time sitting still. She keeps getting up, moving, laying back down for a few minutes then getting back up. It was really bad last night, but it seemed to help when I made her walk around for a little every once in awhile; I'm not sure if she just got too tired or if it helped enough for her to finally sleep. She seems better this morning but she's still moving around more than normal for midday naps. She whines every once in awhile, but not much and doesn't seem to be panting or anything. She is keeping her tail low and wont let me lift to check her behind (but it looked fine when I checked it during her bath the other day). Other than not letting me lift her tail, she doesn't seem to mind me touching her anywhere--I ran my hands over her to check for injuries, but found nothing. I also pressed on her stomach and she showed no signs of discomfort. I don't really have the money to take her to the vet if I can avoid it right now (though of course I will if she doesn't show improvement or suddenly gets worse). My educated guess, is that she's just having a bit of a hard time with going potty. She is free to go whenever she wants, so I'm try keep a close eye on her to check them. I fell asleep last night and this morning there looked to be a somewhat fresh pile, but a bit smaller than normal. I've been making sure she's drinking a lot since last night and she feels well enough to have eaten a small treat no problem (I usually don't give her her daily meal for a couple more hours). This has been going on for about sixteen hours now.

If anyone has any idea of what's wrong or if there is something I can give her or do to make her comfortable, I would really appreciate the help. Please and thank you.

Any chance she may have ingested something? Asking this since her BM was less then usual? Does she get rawhide or bones or anything?  You can try feeding some crammed pumpkin (not the pie filling).
The other possibility may be her anal glands need to be expressed.  Do you know how to do that?  If not, and you have. PetsMart or groomer nearby, you could see if they will do it and the charge usually isn't too much.
Of course, could be anything so keep an eye on her.

She did get into the trash the other night, so there might have been something in there. I give her rawhides sometimes, but she hasn't had on in a few weeks. I didn't think about the anal glands because she wasn't scooting, but I might take her to a groomer to at least check :) This is a good starting point, thank you!
