OK, I'm ready.......Yes, the red dots are flea bites......#1: If they are itching, Benedryl will help. Fleas will search out the warmth of canine or humans, for a meal. As far as putting a repellent on your son, I'm not sure I'd do that, frequently. You obviously have fleas in your home. Here's some things to do that are inexpensive: During the day, fleas hide in your baseboards. They come out to feed at night. Get some "Muleteam Borax" laundry detergent. (Probably $4 for a small box) Sprinkle it around your baseboards. It is and has always been a bug killer. Will kill lots of different insects! In your son's room, at night, put a lamp (Preferably, a bent neck desk lamp) on the floor. Next to the lamp (Also on the floor) put a container full of soap water. (Use dish liquid). Here's why: The fleas will come out seeking warmth. They will jump towards the light and fall into the soapwater and die. This does work...If you don't have a small lamp, a nightlight will work, but not as effective. Maybe this will keep the fleas off of your son and instead, hit the light. On you furkid: Bathe him in Dawn Dish Liquid ($2.00). Has to be the Dawn Original (BLUE). It will kill fleas on contact. Make sure you rinse him real good to get the soap residue off, avoiding dry skin. Now, vacumn, vacumn, vacumn..... This will get eggs and larvae before they hatch. I'm hoping these ideas will help you get this under control. Oh yes, to my knowledge: Fleas can transmit worms to your son. I believe, it's Pinworms. I don't think it's very common, though. You might want to google it to find out. It may be nothing but a Scare tactic...Not sure...OK Good luck and if you have any other questions, let me know....I hope your hard times are looking up real soon. :) Karla
I'm thinking about this one.....Give me some time to come up with inexpensive ways to help you.....I'll get back.....Karla
