New to Forum

I just wanted to introduce ourselves.  I am a single mother of 4 children--2 of the 2-legged variety and 2 of the 4-legged variety.  We have a nearly 3 year old, female, German Shepherd named Sasha and a nearly 1-year old, male, Irish Wolfhound, Connor.  My son and daughter are 11 and 12 respectively.

This forum is pretty interesting and I must admit, I came here looking for answers to a mysterious cluster of blisters on my Connor's tongue.  I am hoping I can figure out what's going on and take the appropriate course of action.

Anyway, thank you for all of the reading material and the friendly forum in which to exchange ideas and thoughts.  I look forward to learning from you all.

I'll take a Biggun' over a Littleun' any day!  In my experience, it's always the little dogs who have bitten me and get neurotic.  I LOVE the wolfhounds and wish I had the room for one.  :-)

I completely understand the "pouncing" thing!  My 9 month old Mastiff pup loves to pounce on the cat!!  He's just over 111 lbs and I anticipate that he is going to top out around 150-160.  I will have to look at my profile and see if I have any updated pics with him.

Isn't it amazing that the biggest dogs are often the gentlest creatures with our kids??

Hi Teri!  Welcome to the MedHelp Dogs Community!

I hope you enjoy your time here, we look forward to getting to know you and your dogs and having you as part of our community.   I hope you're able to figure out what's going on with Connor's tongue problem.  Our vets on the Ask A Vet forum might be able to suggest some possibilities, so in addition to this forum, you might want to give them a try over there.  It's free of charge and provides you with access to medical professionals who so generously donate their time and knowledge to help us with our furbuddies.

He's still a puppy yet and it's funny when he gets into a "puppy phase" and tries to "pounce" on Sasha.  He's a big baby, super affectionate and oh so entertaining.  Ever since I was a kid, I always dreamed of having an IW, so he's a dream come true for me.

He'll be a year old on January 2 and still a growing boy!  I think on his hind legs, he's about 1' taller than I...so he's around 6' tall on his hind legs...maybe 150lbs?  He's still got some bulking up to do as he's just all legs now.

Our pic...hes around 7 months old in that picture.
