Help with re-potty training my 6 year old miniature schanuzer.

My 6 year old miniature schnauzer suffered a fibrocartigenous embolsim 16 months ago.  Thanks to some wonderful vets and an amazing rehab team she is about 90% recovered.  In fact she is a favorite of her rehab vets as she has come so far.  However, we are having serious re-potty training issues.  She does pretty well going outside to urinate as long as we keep reminding her.  However she does not seem to know when she is about to have a bowel movement so she just goes where she is.  In her bed or the sofa, etc.  The vets told me that this would be the last sensation to come back but I am not seeing any progress.  Any ideas on what we can do to get her back to going outside

When is she most likely to have a bowel movement?
After waking up? After breakfast? Or another time of day?
Find out when she is most likely to, then make sure you take her out for a walk at that time, even if it's just in your own yard or garden. Then positively reinforce what she has done by a show of affection and a favourite food treat.

That type of positive reinforcement will eventually create a new mind pathway for her. She will learn to respond and the new habit will be learned....that is my bet anyway.
