Pooping at night

I've had my boy for over three years. he's a rescue mutt.
He was house broken from the day I brought him home. Now all of a sudden he is pooping in the living room at night. The first few days, I did yell and scream at him and put his nose near it, then put him outside, but I stopped. He also stopped sleeping on my bed and is sleeping under the bed and begs to come on the bed in the morning. Then when I get up in the morning he stays on the bed, where before he would jump off as  soon as I put my feet on the floor. I have no idea what started this or how to stop it. Please help me as it is causing me much stress, as I have PTSD and get overwhelmed easily..

tahnks for your time and effort.
Dave

I'm glad you stopped yelling at him. Rubbing his nose near it will not teach him anything.

Does he try to wake you up at night to let you know he needs to be let out?  Can you alter his feeding schedule? Perhaps feed him earlier so he has a chance to poop before bedtime.

I couldn't determine from you post if your dog quit pooping on the living room floor.  You are now concerned about where he sleeps.

Is he too small to get up on your bed by himself?  Is that why he begs to get on the bed?

For me I'd prefer the dog slept on the floor, perhaps in it's own bed..one that fits in size.
