Progression

How quickly does this disease progress? My 11 year old Schnauzer has just been diagnosed and she is eating and drinking  a lot and of course having accidents (she very rarely had accidents).

Thank you for the encouragement. Baily has had 2 good days and she seems happy. All of us are enjoying her. She went to be groomed yesterday and the groomer said she fussed through the whole thing. She is such a mess.

God bless her!  Just hang in there with her!  I remember my vet saying that many dogs can live a full happy life and that they usually get "something else" and it is not the Cushings that causes them to pass.

I wish your dog many more happy years!  As long as she is happy just let her be and enjoy her day to day!  Don't worry about down the road.  I find that the things we fear most usually don't happen.

Baily is not being treated for Cushings at this time her symptoms are not sever enough, I do know once they begin treatment they can never take her off of it. she is drinking a lot and of course then has to go a lot. Sleeping is her favorite thing to do these days. She still plays with her toy and we have to laugh at her she is so cute. I still think of her a puppy.

Thanks for your concern.

I wish I had an answer.  By any chance is your dog being medicated for it or had the surgery to remove the tumor (if there is one?)  At one time I thought my dog had cushings (ended up, not), but my vet did say that sometimes the treatment is worse than the symptoms.  He said unless the symptoms become severe, do not treat it...but that is just one opinion.  I hope your baby is doing well.
