Pug Puppy Acute Crying and Lethargy

Hello fellow pet lovers,

I have a 13 week old Pug puppy (Wimbly) who had two odd events that I can't explain.  Our puppy received is second round of vaccines the afternoon prior.  He got a shot in the bum (he yelped when he got the shot) and squirt stuff up his nose.  The next day in the morning before work, he seemed fine, full of energy, and eating perfect.  In the afternoon, our pet sitter who comes over to let him out mid day indicated he was less energetic that normal (a bit lethargic).  I got home from work that night and found the puppy to be acting a little slower than normal.  Less willing to play with toys right away and overall less puppy energy.  I fed him and he ate fine (gobbled it all up).  He went potty and nothing unusual from normal.

About a hour later, he way playing with me and all the sudden started crying (high pitch whine over and over).  His eyes looked like he wasn't feeling well.  He then acted Lethargic.  My wife got home and we ran him over to the vet.  The vet checked his temp and looked him over and said he was fine. He gave us a steroid / anti inflammatory to give him.  He took one at the office.

When we got he started acting like a new pup again.  My wife and I both relived.  He ate great as usual.

Around 9PM we gave him his second does of the medicine we got and went upstairs to the bedroom.  The puppy was full of energy and playing, chasing the other pug, etc.  All of the sudden, the same thing happened again.  He started crying and acting Lethargic.  After about 10 minutes of crying, he settled down on the bed and went to sleep with no problems for the rest of the night.

This morning, he is acting like a brand new puppy again.  Full of energy, eating great, etc.  I have anxiety and the two random bouts of unexplained behavior has got me on the edge.  Does anybody have any ideas of what is going on?

Final note:  Our puppy has always had stools that are loose.  We have tried new food, pumpkin, etc and cant resolve.  His feces have been tested a few times and no parasites have been found.  Just extra info in case it helps piece the puzzle together.
