Seizure for 6 to 7 hours

My beautiful Shi-poo Boomer is 8 years old. When she was a puppy she had these "episodes" I guess are seizures.

She would go unconscious in and out of it and she would come out of it some 6 to 8 hours later and be her purky happy little self.

She's probably had 8 to ten of these episodes until a couple of weeks ago she started having them back to back and I guess these are called cluster seizures. But still having them for 6 to 8 hours or more...nobody has heard of this...have you got any suggestions??

The vet has put her on a human grade drug...Zeppra 75 mg twice daily for the last 3 days and now she is on phenobarb 15mg twice a day. She is 12 pounds.

I feed her raw Kangaroo and cooked Steel Cut oats with vitamins from the vets.

My question is ...have you ever heard of a dog being in seizure for that length of time and any suggestions would be very helpful...she's our baby and we love her.

All the best

Hi again

I have read a lot of good advice from "John" regarding seizures on this site and would invite any suggestions he may have for me.
As he hasn't responded to my queries I'm assuming I'm still looking for answers.Take care of your fur babies everyone.

Hi

I have not found anything on this site that discusses seizures in dogs for the length of 6 to 8 hours...I haven't found anybody in this situation.

Take care

I see you are not getting any responses but I know there are some that come to the Forum with some knowledge of seizures.  Afraid I don"t have that much experience regarding this.  This has been discussed before so you might try doing a Search.
