Hi, just gently bathe it with warm water about a cupful with a level teaspoon of salt mixed into help the bruising go down ....making sure it does not drip into his eye.... a tiny bit wont hurt but afterwards dip cotton wool into pure water to flush the eye afterwards.
A dab of antiseptic ointment on the cut rub in as to make sure it does not also go into the eye.
Also just keep a watch for vomiting and sleepiness in case of concussion rare..... but if any of those symptoms straight to the Vet.

Shih Tzus are prone to having food allergies, to corn, grain & this affects their eyes.(as well as their skin/coat)
Gradually switch her over to a good grain free food, lamb perhaps, like Taste of the Wild.
