Welts
My 2 year old boxer, has recently started to get welts all over her body. I don't use pesticides , nor do I use any harmful chemicals around her. Does anybody know what might be causing it?

I agree with joeykttn. It does sound like an allergic reaction to something.
Think hard about any kind of changes you have made recently. Laundry soaps,cleaning supplies, air freshners,lawn fertilizers, flea or tick products, food, treats..etc. Believe it or not, some dogs are even allergic to cold weather..and will develop welts after being exposed to the cold outside air...!
It is also possible it could be due to an insect bite,Fleas, bee or spider..? (My Boxer is allergic to any type of insect bites.) If your dog is getting the welts everyday, you really need to find out what is causing the reaction. For temporary relief, and
Until you find out what is causing your dogs allergic reaction, you can give the dog Benedryl..(diphenhydramine hydrochloride)
1 mg of Benedryl per pound of dog is the standard dosage. The dosage can be repeated every 8 hours if needed.
If the welts do not go away, or if they go away, but, continue to return, take your dog to the vet. They can prescribe prednisone for the dog to alleviate the itchiness and welts, until you can find out what is causing the allergic reaction.

Yes, I did change her food, however she was already getting the welts to begin with. I went from Beneful to Iams. So I am really not sure what is going on.
